Hosts of tonight's New Year's Eve celebration in New York City Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper butted heads with Times Square security after event organizers told them that CNN would not be invited back next year if they didn't relinquish their umbrellas. Rain lashed Manhattan as revellers in Times Square rang in the New Year and adhered to strict security measures that did not allow umbrellas in the area.

Rules are for the peasants. I watched the ABC Broadcast hosted by Ryan Seacrest. Whatever one thinks of him at least he is a professional unlike the losers who hosted the NBC and CNN shows.

The “little people” were smart enough to wear rain gear. Why didn’t these overpaid elites?

“...to strict security measures that did not allow umbrellas in the area...”

The New York democrat pukes are running out of things to ban. Next year they will ban raincoats just because they can.

If you ever needed another example of how the elites are better than the rest of us, look at the thousands of people out in Times Square on New Years Eve. Everywhere you saw an umbrella, there was some B-List celebrity underneath, while the rain poured down on your worthless, plebeian head.

What about a rain coast and a rain hat? It’s that simple isn’t it, arrogant elitist media?

Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper don’t own hats and slickers? Or a a vinyl poncho?

Back when I worked in DC every now and then it’d be a rainy day. I had an umbrella but I’m also six-foot-five. Which meant my eyeballs came right about the level of the little spokes that come out of the end of an umbrella when it is fully extended. So...I also wore sunglasses, or safety glasses. It was something I just had to do to avoid eye contact with one of them pokey little metal spokes that were all around me. Truth be told I much preferred rain gear that was more effective but my umbrella also served as a bit of a shield against all the other umbrellas that were flocking down the boulevards to meet me.

Actually, this is a good ban. With umbrellas, you lose the”eye in the sky” observance of the crowd.

Exactly.

A couple years ago, I was on a camping trip with 3 solid days of rain. Rain jacket, rain pants, wide brim hat and rubber boots kept me bone dry.

Was in Rockefeller Center two nights before and there were signs around to bring rain ponchos and jackets, NO umbrellas will be allowed.

Guess that’s just for us, not the elite CNN.

Anderson Cooper has NEVER been told NO in his pampered life.

Just like other Liberals-—”Those rules don’t apply to ME!!!”

They might just ban clothing and pass out bars of soap. Then they would ban the soap because it MIGHT have some pig fat in it.
