(CBS) A Milwaukee County bus driver is being called a hero, after she rescued a toddler found wandering alone in the cold last month, barefoot and dressed in only a onesie and a diaper.
Irena Ivic was driving her regular route on Dec. 22, when she spotted a child running down the street alone, in below-freezing temperatures. Video from security cameras on the bus show the toddler walking barefoot down a freeway overpass.
The Milwaukee County Transit System bus driver said she couldnt believe her eyes. She quickly pulled over, and rushed into oncoming traffic to scoop up the child.

It’s a good thing THAT lady was the one who found the kid. There are others out there who you never know where that kid would end up.
IF the child would be found at all and not freeze to death.
Thank you, Irena Ivic.
Any decent person would have done the same. What all those people who were driving by and did nothing?
That was kind of beautiful and a passenger pulled off her coat to wrap it around the baby too.
I don't want to make this political, but from what I can tell, Ms. Ivic seems to be here legally. Good on her.
A pic of the toddler:
If there were other vehicles passing by, I can only surmise that they didn't see the child.
My view of humanity may be low at times, but not that low.
An Islamic would see the freezing kid and declare to let the stinky kid die. Everybody ain’t like you.
The bus driver did a very good deed. Where I grew up in the fifties all my neighbors would have done the same if it was I as a small child in the street. It is rather sad that today what that bus driver did is considered extraordinary.
My comment is not to denigrate the bus drivers actions, but simply a comment on present society. In my neighborhood where I grew up if I did something wrong another parent would soon set me straight. Much worse was the telephone. By the time I got home my beloved grandparents knew what I did.
The kid was on a sidewalk parallel to a major street
Lots of drivers saw the child but did not react

A few years ago, I saw two little girls, maybe 8 years old walking along a freeway exit ramp. Me and another guy both pulled over. He called the police while I spoke with the girls. Long story short, they crossed a major Interstate while walking to their grandmothers house. They asked if I could give them a ride. NO.
The cop arrived and while we were talking asked what they had in their backpack. “Our cat” as they reached in the pack. Both the officer and I grabbed the pack and shoved the cat back in.
Stupid little girls obviously taught nothing about safety by their equally stupid parents.
