THE DEMOCRATS DON'T WANT A BORDER WALL BECAUSE A WALL IS PERMANENT AND CANNOT BE UNDONE BY A FUTURE DEMOCRAT PRESIDENT!!
The Democrats will ONLY AGREE to "border security" that can be UNDONE BY A FUTURE DEMOCRAT PRESIDENT such as drones, sensors or other 'virtual wall' technologies THAT (UNLIKE A WALL) CAN BE UNDONE OVERNIGHT.
The Democrats' motive is as SIMPLE AS THAT, PEOPLE.
It’s about 30 days of shutdown and Forced reduction. The wall is probably a bit of a sideshow, compared to cutting government
...because....because they work and will keep Nancy’s little sparkling house apes from being used as Golden Tickets into America.
Even if the wall ever did get built, the Dems would try to channel a little bit of Ronald Reagan and try to “Tear down That Wall”. It wouldn’t stop them from trying to demolish it even if it does go up when they are in charge. What would stop them?

Unfortunately, a border wall can - and will - be undone. The next Democrat president will just order that gates be placed in the wall, every 10 miles or so. Then just open those gates, and leave them unattended.
All of this can be done by executive order. There will be moaning from some conservatives in the Senate, for sure. But it will happen.
That’s why although I’m in favor of the wall, it’s only a first step.
IMHO, Democrats don’t “want” a border wall PRECISELY because border walls DO work.
And because Democrat “donors” (drug smugglers, coyotes, gang members et al.) only want “hi-tech security” that does NOT work.

If the wall is built the next Democratic president will make a great show of tearing it down.
I cannot figure out if the newsreaders are so stupid they cannot figure out the opposition to a permanent structure or they choose to act as if they just cannot figure it out to keep the figuring out to a minimum.

Exactly, and they would try to appeal to wishy washy RINOs and like I sad earlier, even use Reagan’s “Tear Down That Wall” to hoodwink these sheeple RINOs into thinking they are doing the right thing.
I think immigration,labor and vote reform within the wall (America)is a lost cause. The physical wall will be let to rot,rust,decay and the entry points wide open when the Democrats regain power if it is even built completely at all.
The “permanent barrier” isn’t going to be permanent, if it isn’t patrolled and maintained.
A future administration only needs to reduce the border patrol. A bad government has lots of scope for misbehavior here.
Democrats are adamantly opposed to the wall because they know if Trump succeeds in building it, he will be unbeatable in 2020 and have extraordinarily long coattails to boot.
Nothing is permanent and certainly a wall is not permanent. Once dems completely control government again their leftist supporters will likely remove or knock holes in whatever wall is built. Having said that the wall should be built. We should never give up.
Democrats don’t want a wall, because it makes it easier for them to gain millions of new voters.
One way to stop those millions of new voters, is to insure that they can’t vote in any elections for at least 10 years. Then, democrats won’t be so eager to let them in.
