Who cares?

Why would anyone post something like this?

It will hit at least $2 Billion, but I’d be surprised if it catches Avatar.

However, preceding it will be Captain Marvel which should easily make $1 B and be this year’s version of Black Panther.

Then, when Endgame plays shortly thereafter and Captain Marvel joins the fray.

This will be a huge year at the box office for Disney/Marvel.

Best new character will be Ghost, Captain Marvel’s cat.

What’s even dumber is that someone who doesn’t care bothers to tell anyone.

When was the last time you went to a party, walked up to people in conversation and said, “I don’t care what you’re talking about.”?

Er...why not? There is a "TV/Movies" topic in the "General/Chat" forum....which is exactly where this is posted.

I’m just trying to help. An intervention, so to speak.

If someone’s eating junk food or poison all the time, they ought to be told they’re poisoning or harming themselves.

This is a conservative forum and it hurts to see the empty garbage of our modern culture worshiped here.

You’ll find you’re a lot better off if you stop wasting your time and mind’s energy on this nonsense.

An escapist film is "garbage" and an article that speculates it'll be a blockbuster is "worshiping" it?

Really?

Were you around in 1977 telling people "Don't see Star Wars! It's poison that will rot your mind!"?

I can’t keep up with all of them. To catch ‘em all would pretty much limit my theater-going to such things.

What I was hoping would be a lot of fun was the second Guardians movie. It lacked most of the light-hearted spontaneity that made the first so good. Opening scene in the second was amazing and then it slowly descended into yet another pointlessly long CGI slug-fest.

“Were you around in 1977 telling people “Don’t see Star Wars! It’s poison that will rot your mind!”?

How old are you?

And are you under the impression that films of 40 years ago have the same zeitgeist as today!

No change in overall cultural attitudes?

But, that’s secondary. What’s the obsession with commercial Tinseltown product?

What on earth does this have to do with “Men’s Health”? Is that a Disney owned publication?

Men’s Health is Rolling Stone leftist groupthink propaganda.

I see FR as a respite from the cultural sewer we are bombarded with continually so I see focus on this as incongruous here.

Hearst

https://mr-mag.com/hearst-agrees-buy-mens-health-owner-rodale/

The magazine world is getting even smaller. Yesterday, Hearst, owner of men’s publication Esquire, has agreed to acquire the magazine and book businesses of Rodale, a global health and wellness content company based in New York and Emmaus, Pennsylvania.

The announcement was made by Hearst president and CEO Steven R. Swartz, Rodale CEO Maria Rodale and Hearst Magazines president David Carey. The transaction is expected to close in early 2018, following receipt of necessary government approvals. Terms were not disclosed.

Upon completion of the acquisition, Rodale’s multi-platform content business will be managed by Hearst Magazines, a unit of Hearst with more than 300 editions and websites around the world, including 20 titles in the U.S.

With 93 editions in 64 countries, Rodale publishes the largest, most established health and wellness lifestyle brands, including Men’s Health, Women’s Health, Prevention, Rodale’s Organic Life, Runner’s World and Bicycling, while Rodale Books is known for conversation-changing titles including former Vice President Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth, Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz’s Onward and Dave Asprey’s The Bulletproof Diet. The division’s highly successful series include Thug Kitchen, Wheat Belly, and The South Beach Diet.

If you think a harmless film such as this is part of a "cultural sewer", you'll likely be happier not particiipating in the multitude of threads that will be posted in the next few months on the subject, given that it's almost certain to be the biggest film of the year.

Overall? Of course there has been. But between the original Star Wars trilogy and the Marvel Cinematic Universe films? Not enough to matter.

But, that’s secondary. What’s the obsession with commercial Tinseltown product?

Posting two articles in one night is an "obsession"?
