Minnesota police know a thing or two about snow, and theyd like you to know you should clean it off your car before you hit the road or it hits another vehicle.
The Minnesota State Patrol tweeted a photo of a car that got pulled over recently for being almost entirely covered in snow, save for a small square of the windshield in front of the driver and the drivers door window.
Dont be this person when it snows. Please. Please. Please. A trooper stopped this car Feb. 14 in Elk River.
Yes, they were cited. Sure, maybe the snow would blow off onto someone elses car. Clean off your vehicles BEFORE you hit the road, the agency tweeted.
Several states have laws that require car windows to be clear of snow and ice, but Minnesota law requires them to be removed from all of the surfaces on a vehicle and holds drivers responsible if anything falls off and damages another car, according to River 96.7.

Good. Really dangerous when you get huge sheets of snow/ice flying off a tractor-trailer.
That’s just plain stupid........I don’t care how much snow is on my car, I brush off all the windows and the front hood.....

Not sure how the tractor-trailers get the snow off their rooftops however.

I saw a car that had to brake on a fairly busy local road—the braking made about a foot of snow go forward completely covering the windshield.Snow on the roof of the car can be dangerous.
.
The rare big snowfall in the south is comical with people driving around with what looks like snow cakes on the roof, like they want everybody to see how much snow they got. It does blow off at highway speeds, sometimes in a big sheet which can be dangerous. Sliding forward over the windshield when stopping is a problem too, if temps are warm enough for melting on the surface of the car. There’s no law here requiring that the entire car be cleared of snow that I’m aware, but it’s just common sense no matter how proud you are of your accumulation, lol.
It’s almost like some of these hombres don’t know how to deal with snow.
That’s true, on my past cars I would brush the roof too. Unfortunately my current car I can’t reach the whole roof but that’s ok, I’m retired and park my car in the garage where it’s snow proof.......
I kept a broom in my car to clean off the roof-—and I am a short woman,it’s always doable.
I am also retired and garaged now-———problem solved.
.
When it’s just snow, use a soft-bristled push broom. If it’s ice, defrosters. Don’t even try to scrape it.
They really overuse some words, shame being one of them. Just is another. Im surprised they didnt say the driver just got shamed. They were schooled. Fileted. Mocked. Just mocked. We are letting kids redefine words and they are deleting the concepts behind the words. Shaming is something you do about morals like sleeping with your best friends wife, not driving while covered with snow. Of course you might get beaten up in the process. But if we shame people for being fat or driving with snow on their car or any number of Twitter Tweetable offenses we lose the concept of actual shame.
What in the heck? ....:o)
Pretty good sculpture...
Whenever we get an ice storm here in Texas you can always count on some jerks driving with ice still on their cars becoming projectiles as they fly off the car.
