Is that Dacula, as in Georgia? I lived in Forsyth County for years before I moved to Spain.

Yes. Are you trying to tell me that I need to bug-out of Dacula? I am just off of 85 and Hamilton Mill.

Small world.

I worked as an election official in Forsyth county for many years. 2000 - 2009

Do you remember Captain Herb and his traffic trooper Count Dracula? I was in Cumming from 2000-2009. Who knows, we may have met.

Of Course I remember Capt. Herb. A man with a big heart that died saving someone after a car accident.

They actually named a stretch of a new highway after him The Capt. Herb interchange.

You know, I do seem to remember the name Count Dacula. That was a loooong time ago. I took the FR name after Buckhead outed Dan Rather in 2004.

I sure wish I could have met ya. Oh the stories we could tell. :)

Yes, it wasn't Count Dracula it was Count Dacula. I knew that but just spelled it wrong. We had transferred down to Georgia and for a long time I pronounced Dacula based on what Capt. Herb said. Now I know it's pronounced DaQla :-) There is a big gun club in Cumming that is also into SHTF preparation and will organize as a militia if things ever get really bad. I had a lot of good years in Georgia. My daughter graduated from Brenau and my son graduated from Georgia Tech but I'm loving my new life in Spain. Here is a view from our terrace. Notice the hill in front? If you look a bit to the left you can see a castle that has been there since Roman times. On one of the rocks jutting out to sea is a cross that was put there to mark the spot where the Moors left Spain for good in 1489 after 750 years of rule. We can swim in the Mediterranean after breakfast, ski in the Sierra Nevada Mountains all day and be back in time for an evening swim. Not a bad place to retire.

OK, you have a better life than I do now. I am sufficiently jealous. I gives me something to strive to someday.

Midwest Flooding - Time To Stock Up?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“It’s Supermarket Time”
March 25, 2019 Kim du Toit
http://www.kimdutoit.com/2019/03/25/its-supermarket-time/
“At this moment, millions of acres of farmland are underwater, and that is not going to change any time soon. When the flood waters came, they moved so rapidly that they literally picked up pigs and baby calves and carried them along. Roads, rail lines and entire small towns have been washed away, and so even if farmers had something left to sell they couldn’t get it to market anyway.”
“Food production in the United States is going to be way, way down this year. Prices at the grocery store are immediately going to start rising, and they are going to keep rising all year long. So now is the best time to stock up and to get prepared for what is coming. Our breadbasket has been absolutely devastated, and things are only going to get worse. The mainstream media seems to think that this is just another in a long string of major natural disasters that has hit our nation in recent years, but the truth is not so simple. This disaster is going to have a dramatic impact on our ability to grow our own food, and even if everything went perfectly from this point forward we are talking about a recovery that would take many, many years.”
Want to make a small fortune?
Invest a large fortune betting against the ability of American farmers to over-produce.
The flooding, bad as it is, effects a relatively small percentage of America’s agricultural production. Not much outside of beef production will be affected beyond a few weeks.
That would sure be good news.
