You are thinking of "ALF". The AAF is a new minor league to test American's appetite for football and give players a chance to audition for the NFL. Founded by Charlie Ebersol and former NFL executive Bill Polian.

Yes. There are no kickoffs, teams will begin possessions on their own 25 yard line. There are no PAT kicks, teams will attempt 2-point conversions after each touchdown. There are no TV time outs and fewer commercials. The play clock is 35 seconds instead of 40. Overtime will be "High School rules" each team gets a possession on their own 10 yard line, games end in tie if still tied after that. There is also a "4th and long" desperation option as a replacement for onside kicks.

Well each team has 4 NFL tie in teams. Or you could root for a coach you like, you figure it out.

Various, Bender or I or someone will post schedules, there's 2 games on Sat and 2 on Sun. After the 10 game regular season is over the 2 teams in each conference advance to the playoffs.

Yeah...i have been following pretty regularly.
The game is faster and the play is a bit more open. Lot more interceptions and fumbles than in the NFL. The defense can only rush 4, for example, 5 on special occasions, and the quarterbacks are not protected by excessive roughing rules.
So far, I like it well enough...

I wonder how the league is doing.
Trying to find the games is next to impossible. There seems to be only one game on cable in my area each week and it is teams I have zero interest in.
The NFL Network is in a tier I do not subscribe to, so I can’t get those games. Even the youtube offerings are lacking.

My DVR is set to record every AAF game available. Last night, the two AAF games scheduled were replaced by NFL Network stuff of no interest. Maybe the games are pulling in too few eyes to be sustainable. Lord knows the stadiums are no where near full for games.

There are no games on Friday, so they must have been replays or something. There are 2 games every Sat and 2 on Sunday. This weeks sched is in post 3
