And what about slaves in America? I have seen the eight-inch spikes on top of metal fences . . . they feared a slave uprising. It would have been over sooner if they had guns in their hands.

Stupid question considering “arms” is what is currently preventing a Jewish holocaust right in front of you every single day in the present.
I've always wondered why the French did not fight back more against the Germans. The Occupation Army was vastly out numbered by the French citizenry. Would there have been casualties? Yep.
But you make France too expensive for the Germans to hold.
And very probably *very* different.
Although it's hard to be certain exacatly how they'd be different.It could have simply meant that a squad of Nazi soldiers would have shown up at such households and a gunfight would have ensued...a gunfight that the Jewish residents of the household would have lost.
There is no German history lecturer explaining this to HuffPuff. If you go back to 1913, there was a mass shooting in Bremen (at a school). After that one event, the Kaiser and the Reichstag had a big law revision, which drove gun reform. The Nazis just came up later to add on top of what was done there in 1913, and later what the Reichstag accomplished in the early 1920s.
People say it couldn't happen here....but I'm sure there are some on the Left who would gladly send a lot of us to the camps.
The answer is “yes”. The experience in the Polish Warsaw Ghetto where the Jews, originally with only about half a dozen guns, managed to stall the Nazi advance for significant amount of time.
