What’s the market for this? It seems like the people who can afford a half million dollar off-road camping rig either wouldn’t be really in position to use it other than as a conversation piece, or they would have endless other options for more convenient vacation spots and the people who would use it wouldn’t be able to afford it. I’m also curious what the plan would be when the thing gets stuck,because it would be hard to avoid having one of these things and not trying to take it into really rough terrain where it could get flipped or swamped. I’d think you would just have to abandon it and hike back to civilization ... Or have a second one on standby as a chase vehicle.

As rigs like this go, it is kind of small and mid range or so in price.
I have a Unimog, similar. I do NOT consider it a good survivalist or "bug out" vehicle.
Things like this are just rolling targets in bad times unless a lot are together ad heavily armed.

Great vehicle but it’s at least $400K more than you really need. I’d buy it if I won the lottery.
The market is awful limited. But there are thousands of people with money in their pocket, who want extreme camping experiences, and willing to pay this kind of money. These aren’t regular campers....they want luxury but surrounded by ultimate wilderness. Eventually, someone is going declare Mongolia as the ‘utopia’ for extreme camping like this.

I think my buddy can make his Jeep CJ look just like that, as soon as he orders the parts.

A company I used to work for had an old Ford Van that was four-wheel drive. It looked like crap, but it could haul butt up hills and go anywhere. (We bought it used - I think the former owner had done some special work on it.)
Other than having to go outside to go to the bathroom, I’m guessing it would have made a pretty good survival vehicle. (Assuming there was gasoline. IIRC it didn’t get very good mileage!)
A real Q-ship that was practically invisble to DC, MD, and VA police net.
Think of the electronics in that sucker. Unless the electronics are hardened, one little ol’ EMP, and it’s just another pretty rock on the landscape.
Hey, if there are people out there willing to buy ‘em and they can make money selling them, more power to ‘em. These aren’t the circles I hang in, and it’s such a different concept for me, I just couldn’t figure out who would buy one and then use it for its designed purpose.
