Darwin's Doubt: Ben Shapiro interviews Intelligent Design advocate Stephen Meyer
Evolution News ^ | March 25, 2019, | David Klinghoffer

When Charles Darwin finished The Origin of Species, he thought that he had explained every clue, but one. Though his theory could explain many facts, Darwin knew that there was a significant event in the history of life that his theory did not explain. During this event, the “Cambrian explosion,” many animals suddenly appeared in the fossil record without apparent ancestors in earlier layers of rock.

In Darwin’s Doubt, Stephen C. Meyer tells the story of the mystery surrounding this explosion of animal life—a mystery that has intensified, not only because the expected ancestors of these animals have not been found, but because scientists have learned more about what it takes to construct an animal. During the last half century, biologists have come to appreciate the central importance of biological information—stored in DNA and elsewhere in cells—to building animal forms.

Expanding on the compelling case he presented in his last book, Signature in the Cell, Meyer argues that the origin of this information, as well as other mysterious features of the Cambrian event, are best explained by intelligent design, rather than purely undirected evolutionary processes. - Back Cover

David Klinghoffer: Ben Shapiro’s Sunday Special interview with Stephen Meyer is up and viewable now at YouTube. This might be the best interview with Meyer that I’ve ever seen. Check it out:

Are mathematics, order, cause, and effect ideas we cast upon reality, or do those ideas precede our cerebral efforts?

My question to those seeing evidence of design in animal life is can they name some things in this universe that weren't designed?

If everything in the universe has a certain property then saying one particular aspect of the universe has it too is meaningless.

“If everything in the universe has a certain property then saying one particular aspect of the universe has it too is meaningless.”

So then, if everything in the universe is undesigned and arose randomly, saying any particular aspect of the universe has that property too is also meaningless?

Great book! (and on audible too) A scientific view which should be included in our narrow minded public education system.

I think skunk’s prove design. How the heck could evolution result in their defense system?

Same way octopi and squid shoot camouflage black ink out to blind/confuse their attackers and get away?

As a way to categorize it or compare it to some other aspect, yes.

Unimaginable complexity does not arise spontaneously. Period.

The “Q” entity stopped by and added them.

Already taught in schools … evolution and a multi-billion year old earth.

If you b a pure materialist...
Your ideas are products of the physiochemical reaction(if one believes that there such a thing as physiochemical reactions, and is actually true) in your brain. So there ain’t no “reality” at all....takes all the fun outta discovery...no? I think that viewpoint is called self refutin’.
Please, I need some stimulation of my dopamine and nicotinic receptors in my brain.

At some point, in my opinion, science will create a new species

In fact I do believe they are allowing patents already for genetic modification

So intelligence design will, in my opinion, happen (science will create new species)

What is the test to determine an intelligence design species (science created) from a natural evolved one?

And if one was to look at a fossil record.. what would you expect to see for a intelligence design species (science created) vs a natural evolved one?

Of what type would you expect to see a sudden appearance vs a slow evolution?

I saw some spectacular trilobite fossils for sake in Sedona long ago - along with geodes, jades, and paintings.
