Well, we're back with an update because his boozey mission is done and he didn't crumble once - and he's 44 pounds lighter for it. Del, who works at Fifty West Brewing Company in Cincinnati, Ohio, has drank exclusively from an assortment of beers for 46 days - a plan which was inspired by the fasting rituals of 18th century Bavarian monks...

Did he give up beer or food?

YOUR title says one thing, the article says another.

I’m gonna give up beer OR food.

From now on, I’ll always have them together. :)

Ms Jane is correct. Although most of us already know that he gave up food for beer. This story has been posted many times.
What I’d like to know is what kind of breath mints, mouthwash or baking soda he used then before leaving the house?

He should have used ‘product placement’ custom, and had an open tin of peppermint Altoids just happen to be sitting in the camera shot.Altoids would pay money for that kind of endorsement.

Personally I’m waiting on the “Smoking dope and Eating Cheetos” diet results. In the mean time I’ll have a large pepperoni pizza and a pitcher of beer.

Never have a beer during dinner, it must be savored alone, well before a repast. It is wine with a fine meal, a tody maybe after as a closer.

Forget about this. Muslims murdered 300 Christians in suicide bombings this Easter in Sri Lanka.

Tomorrow it will be another set of Christiana massacres by Islam.

Medieval beer was liquid bread: highly nutritious, very inexpensive.

Modern beer is sterilized and filtered, hence less nutritious.

I thought Lent was about something else rather to diet.

No doubt, the weight loss came from protein metabolism, ie muscle mass, not from fat loss. I would also wager that his liver enzymes are elevated.

All diets, esp the dopey ones on TV will get you to lost 25 to 30 pounds, but you gain no knowledge on the physiology of wt loss, which is the key to sustain weight loss and a healthy body.

When you think about it, beer is just fermented barley soup spiced with hops.
