Now Musk is talking about "raising capital", or selling more Tesla stock to raise cash so Tesla can keep the lights on.

If these electric cars were profitable, the big automobile companies would have been selling thousands of them.

I've read when Houston had those floods, electric car owners couldn't do anything. These cars are useless in the winter storms here in WI.

Sure, Tesla makes a loss on every car, but they will make it up on volume!

People love to hate Ann and Elon —it’s some kind of sport.

Yes, he has depended on gummint money, he really has.

Seriously: If not for Elon, do you think the other major makers would have done by now even 1/10th of the changes they’ve made..?

You think launch costs would have come down as much as they have, if not for Elon..?

I admit the pork, but I’d say as far as gummint pork goes Elon has been the most productive by A MILE.

Electric cars I Germany produce more CO2 than diesel ones.

So what is all this joy about?

The modern day PT Barnum is now saying he will start Tesla Auto Ins. very soon. The Rental car option will be $300 a year as it takes five months to get parts for repairs. The guy has cornered the market on misdirection, flashlights and flying pigs.

Tesla has never made a profit, but it is good at blowing through free money. You know better. https://tech.co/news/tesla-hasnt-made-a-profit-in-15-years-and-its-not-alone-2018-06

Could you kindly demonstrate/explain these ephemeral GOOD THINGS that the automakers are doing because of Tesla?

If you go into a renewables/electric good, ICE bad speech, you’re not worth a further response, btw

“In the meantime, the $35,000 version of the car announced in February never shipped. Instead, on April 12th, the company said it would take a slightly higher-spec Model 3, use software to limit its features and ultimate range, and sell that version of the car for $35,000.”

reminds of the expensive upgrades IBM offered to increase the speed of its card sorters in the 1950s: to make the upgrade, an IBM tech would come in, open the drive belt cover and switch the drive belt up one notch on a pair of step pulleys to speed up the sorter ...

Those were controlled conditions. How would electric cars fair in below-zero weather? No thanks, I’ll keep my “fossil-fuel” vehicle.

WOW!

That is one pathetic excuse of an apology for ripping off the tax payers.

Elon Musk only brilliance is recognizing his Ponzi scheme has no end. The supply of money is endless and he knows "investors" AKA taxpayers can't do anything about it.

Someday his little fraud will come crashing down around his ears...The sooner the better.

He said he was open to raising capital, but wanted to avoid it if possible.
