Australian officials are killing millions of feral cats by airdropping frozen sausages laced with poison across the Outback.
The felines die within 15 minutes of ingesting the toxic treats, which are produced at a factory close to Perth.
But in a bid to kill as many as possible, officials also trap and shoot the creatures.
The sausages are made with kangaroo meat, chicken fat, herbs, spices and the poison, 1080, the New York Times reported.

For some reason this reminds me of a guy I know who is opposed to bug spray on animal cruelty grounds. Apparently his better solution would be to trap all the roaches and release them outside. Never did find out if he ever had a chance to put his ideas into practice.
Make it a fair fight - give the cats some anti-aircraft missiles.

I talked to a wildlife biologist when I attended the Mississippi hunter safety instructors academy. He said he kills every feral cat he sees.
He is correct but I just can’t bring myself to kill the ones who come to my porch in a very rural area.
Herbs and spices? For feral cats?

Just feed the cats hummus...that sh*t will kill them quite safely.

Back in the 70s the river authority here in all their brilliance decided to kill out the “bad” fish like carp and little bony perch. They drained the river 30 feet (too bad they couldn’t be bothered draining so much as an inch during this fall’s massive 40 foot flood that wiped out so many homes and businesses) and had helicopters fly over dumping poison in the water. Never mind people got their drinking water from the river. Surprise!!! Every variety of fish died and people got very sick. That’s the same as what’s going to happen in Australia. Stupid to the nth degree.

After they kill the cats, what are they going to do about the exploding rat population?

How many family pets has he killed? It’s not like he asks the cats if they are feral or not.
I thank the feral cat who had two litters in the garage for our precious furbabies.
