How much would you pay to own the world's oldest Porsche? Auto valuation experts believe some enthusiastic soul with deep pockets will fork over $20 million for the antique collectible known as the Type 64 #3. If it happens, it would be the most expensive Porsche purchase in world history, according to Road and Track. The one-of-a-kind antique Porsche is scheduled to be auctioned RM Sotheby's in August during the 2019 Monterey Car Week in Monterey, California.

Not wild about it.
That is a pretty cool looking car - especially in 1939.
I find it ironic they made pretty crappy tanks for the Germans in WWII. I guess some engineering doesn’t transfer...

If Jon Voight didn’t own it, not interested.
Ferdinand took the German obsession with over-engineering to the extreme.
Porche made panzer tank turrets in WWII.
Looks like a bad bondo job on that front wheel cover.....
Very art deco.
Ping.
Too expensive;)
I stopped by the Ford Dealership yesterday in San Antonio, Texas for a look at the new 2019 F-150..
Just for fun, I took it out for a test drive. I wanted to sense that new truck “feel” before I get too old. The salesperson (a nice looking lady wearing
a ‘RESIST’ lapel pin) sat in the passenger seat next to me, describing the truck and all its “wonderful” options.
The seats were of particular interest. She explained that the seats directed warm air to your butt in the winter and directed cool air to your butt in the summer heat. Feeling like messing with her, I mentioned that this must be a Republican truck.
Looking a bit angry, she asked why I thought it was a Republican truck. “I explained that if it were a Democrat truck, the seats would just blow smoke up your a** year-round!”
I had to walk back to the dealership but it was worth it.
A VW with bigger fenders.
Still - it is a piece of history.
The quintessentially Teutonic sports car. Surpassing even the Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR.
I thought this was going to be a prototype Porsche tractor.
That’s a lot for an old car, where are you going to get it repaire?
Parts and labor will be astronomical if you want original factory equipment
Lol! are you here until Tuesday and should we try the veal? :-).
Why? You were in the driver's seat for the test drive.
(Yeah, I know its a joke.)
Wonder why the current pictures show left hand drive while the historical pictures show right hand drive?
Oh well, as long as it is completely authentic.
“I wanted to sense that new truck feel before I get too old. “
Instead of just sensing the feel of the new truck, may I suggest just buying it. We have a 2018 F150 and compared to let’s say 10 years ago, it’s a major improvement. They have unbelievable acceleration and pulling power as well as cornering ability. And the interior creature comforts are quite nice.
The downside is durability as this truck in noted for transmission and rear end troubles if used for towing or hauling. It’s a city guy’s truck.
