I think there were some insights I may not have heard stated exactly as done here. If I have time I will post them in this discussion.
That’s too bad. It was very informative. Really laid out how and why liberals think and act like they do. Nothing really new for anyone who has had to deal with a liberal very often, it still well done and worth the few minutes necessary to watch it.
For those who don’t want to here is a short synopsis:
Liberals do not accept absolute, universally provable truths, i.e. XX equals female, XY equals male; 2+2=4; Sharia law is anti woman and not compatible with a civilized modern society, etc. So since they can’t do that they are forced to support any idea regardless of how insane or evil, and to find inherent fault with anyone or any belief system that does believe in said truths. Why because everything is relative. The only bad thing are those, who unlike them, understand that there is evil and bad in the world. Again no absolute truth. Moral and cultural relativism is their religion and their brand of diversity is it’s sacrament. Anyone who doesn’t agree is an apostate and must be silenced or eliminated because they are standing in the way of the ultimate utopia where there is no right or wrong, and therefore no reason to fight with one another over competing ideologies or religions. So no war, no poverty, no hunger. No facts or data will change their mind. You can’t reason with them and to do so is fruitless.
I would add that this sickness, and yes that is what it is, is often harnessed by some to lay the path for great evil to come into the power. I think that most liberals in this country and Europe are just childish, foolish tools being played by others as a means to an end. They are being duped and what they don’t know is they and their idealistic claptrap will be the first into the ovens when their handlers finally achieve the power they are helping them achieve. The Cold War term was fellow travelers and useful idiots.

I’m not sure I do either. I’ve tried various things, and am too old/don’t care to get in a shouting match. I vary from calm reason, TRYING - to just shaking my head. A time or two I’ve done humor, MUCH of what I’ve gotten from FR over the years...example:
Was at a mini-reunion with my oldest best friends, and one went on about how profound he thought some movie was, the one @ forgiving/understanding, with Sean Penn and Susan Sarandon (typical liberal bleeding heart garbage). I’d heard @ it here on FR, knew generally what it was about, and when he paused, I opined; “The murder victim was unavailable for comment.”
He immediately launched into an ad-hominem attack; “Are those your words, or Rush Limbaugh’s?”
I gave up.
I’ve done a lot of work on just WHICH mental disorder they are experiencing, and written @ it in my profile if you’d care to look.

Step 1: Get the liberal to agree that relativism is the basis of their point of view (this is the tricky part, as they may be unaware of the real basis of their own views and just parroting what other people around them say)
Step 2: Demonstrate that relativism is a self-refuting position. Relativism posits “There is no absolute truth”, yet that is a claim that purports to be an absolute truth, thus the claim cannot be true.
Step 3: Prepare to be disappointed, since most people will still prefer the consequences of cognitive dissonance to admitting they were wrong.
Thanks ShadowAce. I would submit that this ailment has spread past just "liberals" (I personally despise the left for perverting that term!). Just today I have been called a "PC revisionist", a leftist, and (inscrutably) "Yankeefa".
Because I hold a different opinion from them.
