I just wanted to thank everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers. I really appreciate reading them.
It really was a shock for me. Like I said, Donna was not sick. She just went to bed early Monday night. Her door was mostly closed when I got up the next morning. I went over to my mother's house to get her out of bed and make breakfast. I then came home around 10am and she was still sleeping. I went in her room to wake her and found her gone. I am still in shock. I find myself forgetting that it even happened, and turn to say something to her before I remember.
Donna wasn't always so quick with an opinion. In the early years of our friendship I did most of the talking. One day she came home from work and said she had been listening to a guy on the radio and really like what he was saying. She asked me to listen and tell her what I thought. That guy was RUSH. We started more of an equal conversation after awhile.
And then, and then...she found Free Republic!
Every now and then Donna would get into a heated discussion with a FR member but always had great respect for everyone. FR was her second best friend.

I pray that your “local support system” draw close to you, that you ride the roller-coaster of emotion, and that you never lose sight of the promise of everlasting life. Life is fleeting, precious, sacred ... and unpredictable and at time overwhleming. Hang in there.
I am very sorry for your loss. One of the first people I encountered on FR was Donna, twenty plus years ago. May she rest in peace.
