Put ‘em up on eBay myself with all the detailed collectors’ info and got three times what I figured they were worth. Haven’t looked back yet.
Good move. You happened to hit the sweet spot. Interesting items that appeals to folks with money. Collecting tastes change over time and I’ve seen people disappointed when they find out the current value of their antique spoon collection.
Oh yeah, I remember the Avon bottles, Beanie Babies and "Collector" plates among others.
Ever watch Mike Mezack and his "coin collecting" spiels? Items made to be collected as compared to old items that survived hard usage. That last is REAL collecting.
