Why Not Socialism?
American Thinker ^ | 5/23/2019 | John Conlin

Posted on 06/05/2019 9:43:20 AM PDT by John Conlin

Today, socialism is making a renewed push in the U.S. and has found a willing consumer among both the young and older bleeding hearts. Whether they understand what it would truly mean to become an socialist country is meaningless. They are behind it 100%.

Conservatives are losing this argument, as they have for decades, because they argue from a false position.

Even conservatives talk about having this or that political opinion as if it is something you can just personally chose; that it needn’t be tethered to any other reality. Kind of like which tastes better, chicken or pork… decent people can believe either and both are true.

This childish thinking will destroy the USA and ultimately has the capability to destroy the planet.

What you or I think is irrelevant. Our opinions don’t remake reality simply because we wish it to be so. What matters is the truth. Although it is somewhat difficult to wrap one’s head around, factual truth is simply a small reflection of fundamental reality.

Always like to get some feedback from the Freepers. And I even tried to get the entire article readily available... no need go through all the pain and effort of clicking to go to American Thinker... But YOUR website won't allow it. Don't bitch at me... at least about this ;-)

“They are behind it 100%.”

1.) It’s Anti-Trump
2.) They never got the same history lessons we did

The Education Establishment has been teaching people since the 1960’s that truth is relative and we each construct our own.

I doubt we’ll be able to restore any concept of reality.

If the young aren’t taught the different type of government and only hear how good socialism is, then they will fall in line like good little socialists.

Socialistic schemes ALWAYS overpromise and underdeliver.

Every kind of socialism relies on command-and-control, which degenerates finally into a military dictatorship, and even when full command and control cannot be instituted, the result is anarchy and chaos until a really draconian military dictatorship take power.

Usually by executing a goodly part of the citizenry.

Very interesting article and summed up quite well. Individual freedom and limited government allows a nation to prosper while the exact opposite which is socialism, has been tried countless times, does not. Liberalism or Progressivism is truly a doctrine of insanity where you do the same thing over and over again and yet expect different results.

What I posted earlier today:

The basis of all totalitarian (especially Marxist) systems is to convince you that you’re not an individual but rather a small part of the huge mass of ‘undifferentiated being’.

This means your individual autonomy, convictions, ethics, property, etc. are worthless and unnecessary. That you continue to strive for these things and continue to value them is anathema and Liberals label you ‘selfish’.

Once totalitarian leaders achieve this, YOU will be completely in their power.

Let’s say you want a palace and limousines.

In a truly free and capitalist country, you come up with a good idea and then work your behind off.

But, what if you are stupid and lazy, but still want that palace and limousines?

You have to go with an idea that is already out there.

Like socialism.

And this idea has to get lots of people to do your dirty work. People have to think that they’ll get a palace, too.

Like socialism.

As long as there are greedy and stupid people, socialism/communism is going to be brought up by the sneaky, lazy people.

Look at our culture.

What are the Democrats producing?

Greedy, stupid people.

So the con goes on.

Prepare yourselves for this argument:

“21st. Century computer technology, including real-time supply chain management systems and AI, will FINALLY allow an economy to be centrally managed in an efficient way.”

It’s coming, I assure you.

You make some good points in the article but I had no idea where you were going with until I was half-way through.

A just machine to make big decisions
Programmed by fellows with compassion and vision
We’ll be clean when their work is done
We’ll be eternally free yes and eternally young
What a beautiful world this will be
What a glorious time to be free

The damage is all done by encouraging people to belong to a “community”.

Any community that would have me, I don’t want any part of

Socialism is Paradise.

1. Your money’s no good.
2. You’re expected to praise the administration forever.
3. It leads to nothing better.

We won the economic side of the cold war... no contest there.

... and we thought it was over... so we stopped fighting it.

Little did we know that wars such as this simply do not end.

While we were dominant economically and militarily, the enemy has remained dominant in the realm of propaganda and social engineering for centuries, LONG before our nation was ever born.

They patiently let this sleeping giant go back to sleep while they slowly and meticulously infiltrated our schools, media, and government systems in order to re-define what it means to be free.

One may ask what their first target was?

Simple... our morality... our TRUST in God.
For if you reject the God from which our freedoms come,
you reject those freedoms along with Him.

Even our founding fathers knew this and warned us against it.

“An immoral society is incapable of self governance”

That is the dirty little secret nobody wants to hear, and why our opinions dont matter.

Eventually this nation WILL fall unless we turn back to Him.

Oh, it most certainly is, in fact, it's already here. That argument has the same difficulties that the Austrian School pointed out years ago: you can't gather enough information to form a predictive model. You can gather enough on past performance to form a descriptive model, yes; that's the fundamental principle of data analytics. But it can't anticipate change.

The usual answer to that is the one statists love the most: the state decides what changes it wants and forces them. Fails every time.

There are a lot of people who want socialism which ultimately becomes Marxism.

They apparently long for a Saddam Hussein who was a Muslim Marxist. The country had its own version of Hussein in Obama, also a Muslim Marxist.

Ha!

Americans want desperately to ‘belong’ because the family has been ‘de programmed’ and trivialized. There’s nothing as wholesome or significant to take its place.

Very sad
