The source of the article is British.
it’s an improving technology. Hopefully it continues, and shows applications in other areas!
Cool. When will that change this:
Earnings per share: -$5.75.
I wonder how long they stay effective - full distance on a charge and actual full charge - phones and electric tools would indicate that over time, the full charge is not actually achieved and the power fades faster too. I have a 12 year old drill that “on a full charge” will only do about 1/4 the work it used to do before needing an overnight charge...

I think the battery management system on a Tesla is better than your 12 year old drill.
How much does that cost?
I’ve got a 50 something year old “drill” that has the exact same characteristics you just described.

Yes, and Tesla made an acquisition this year that should help with the batteries.
Next year’s Model S is supposed to have over 400 miles of range.
I understand that a charge to 80% takes about as long as the final 20%. On Tesla’s latest chargers that should equate to a time of ten minutes or less.
If they do a COMPLETE charge at 200 kW, they’ll be in the news again, and it won’t be good for their stock. They might get to 80 percent at that rate, but not any more than that, at least with the laws of physics, as they exist today. So the 20 minutes isn’t real - at least 30 minutes for a full charge.
My old ‘95 Honda Odyssey charges in about two or three minutes at the gas pump.
Why do they always bury the lede? This should have been the article's headline!
Regards,
Sounds like youre talking about a Teddy Kennedy drill.
Sure Jan.
Like we believe anything Tesla says anymore. You can keep your Doctor, too!
According to this article it’s about the same as paying $2.25 for a gallon of gas. Superchargers are a premium product. Tesla owners do 90% of their charging at home or at work.

I’ve always wondered if those batteries discharge enough electrical pulse to effect humans over time. I aren’t an engineer.
“its an improving technology. Hopefully it continues, and shows applications in other areas!”
200kw is a lot of juice. Particularly when thousands of these things are trying to charge. Do these sensitive environmentalist realize what it will take to make enough electricity to charge these cars? They think you just plug them into the wall.. .
What is the life of a Tesla battery and what is the cost of replacement? Is that amortized into that $2.25 a gallon comparison?
“Given the Long Range version quotes at 329 miles on a full battery, that means a complete charge in just over 20 minutes.”
“Kids...here’s some change. You and Momma get some snacks and drinks out of the vending machines. We’ll be back on the road 20-odd minutes after I get to the charging station. We’re third in line.”
I get pissed when I have to stop for gas on a long trip and that takes 5 minutes. They are insane to think stopping for 20 minutes ever 4 hours is cool.
