Did you try going out a fire door? If those were locked (usually there is no handle on the outside) it would be a major fire code violation.

Why would they lock the cockpit door
when the plane was empty and parked?
I read the article, and what I said still stands, I doubt that the BBC journalist who would bother to check facts.
I suspect alcohol was involved.

No. I was prepared to spend the night...and then sheepishly explain my dilemma in the a.m.
It was all ‘round embarrassing.

No. Laughing. That was not the case.
That happened to me once, in my dishwashing days working my way thru college. 1975. I was working in a large department store, in the basement restaurant, cleaning up after it closed, just an hour before the store closed. It was mop night, so clean up took longer than usual. This was practically the only time the closing guy didn't check on me.
Fortunately, the number of the guy who responded to security alarms was posted at customer service, so I was able to call him to let me out. He had just arrived home when I called.
The cockpit is left open when all passengers are (supposedly) off the plane so the maintenance crew to work easier. Flight attendants should be fired, and the passenger gets free lifetime rides on another airline paid by Air Canada

They should learn to sprechen English. Pronto.
Because you can start a jet from the control panel. I doubt they drain the fuel if the plane is only going to be idle for a couple of days or less.
Close to my situation...’cept couldn’t find a # to call so only solution was 911 and the cops!

So other than the fact that you know nothing about airline aviation, what makes you think the ‘article’ has any basis in reality?

I would have found the peanuts stash and loaded up before getting rescued. :)
