You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications.
The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for todays Cryptogram.
If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hals Helper below:
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.
Solution to our last puzzle:
Love looks not with the eyes but with the mind, and therefore is winged cupid painted blind. ---William Shakespeare
Trivial. 1.5 min.
2 minutes. Have a great day.
True.
2 min. I have seen the author perform a few times.
hmmm, how I missed Willie yesterday, I don’t know but on today I will say everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
Of course that depends on how one interprets the word ‘love’.
The short words made it easy, even though I got some of them wrong at first.
Frequently the National syndicated Cryptoquote, that I occasionally use, is a lemon. They like to use left leaning quotations, that are like skim milk. I virtually never post them.
I made the exception today. I knew it was a loser, but as a puzzle to solve, it was an easier one, and I think the group deserved a little break.
IF ANYONE HAS A QUOTATION THEY’D LIKE TO SEE, PLEASE SEND TO MY PRIVATE REPLY.
1 minute, but only because i recognized the quote before i had many letters down
2:11
-PJ
just a minute
Just over 2 min. Meh.
Well, that was the easiest one so far, but I’m not complaining! LOL!
Yes, I thought you’d like it.
Tomorrow’s is going to be super easy, so much so that you need to try solving it, one sentence at a time.
This one is difficult. I think I will go do something exciting, wash dishes! then come back and try to solve it.
Very easy.
When there is a comma in a relatively short quote, it makes the solution much easier; especially if it is only two letters.
