A trucking company out of Artesia has been chosen to deliver this year’s White House Christmas tree. Wilbanks Trucking Services owner Lance Wilbanks says his company normally handles transport of large oil rigs. With the oil and gas boom, the company has grown to more than 250 employees. The Current Argus reports that Wilbanks Trucking will pick up the tree from the Carson National Forest near Taos and deliver it more than 18-hundred miles to Washington DC in November.

Nice to see that an oil and natural gas service company and from New Mexico, no less, was selected for this honor.

Just wait. The media and the Democrats (but I repeat myself) will find a way to politicize the Christmas tree.

Not only that. These leftwing pieces of garbage will start doxxing the company and threatening them. They should have kept quiet and delivered the tree like normal business...

Thought 'they' were trying to kill gas and oil business in NM to prevent sea level rise. You know, backing up the Rio Grande to Elephant Butte. 😁

This is the US Capitol tree, not the White House tree.
The white house tree is always much smaller. The US Capitol tree is always big and is why it takes a full size tractor trailer to transport it to DC. There is a US Capitol Christmas tree Facebook page if anyone wants to track the journey.

True enough, however the article at the link said that tree will be accompanied by about 70 companion trees to be displayed around Washington, D.C. in numerous federal offices. One of them may well be the White House tree.

I know this is a silly question, but aren’t there any Forests closer to D.C.?

Seems like a waste of money and Diesel Fuel to me. Is DiCaprio driving the Truck?

Trees come from a different state all across the country each year. The link below is a list of locations since the beginning in 1964:

Companies and drivers are all volunteers and to be selected is an honor for both the state and participants.
