Mother Took 10 Year-Old for Abortion Instead of Calling Police After Man Raped Her Daughter
LIFE NEWS ^ | AUG 12, 2019 | Micaiah Bilger

A South Carolina mother allegedly took her 10-year-old daughter to an abortion clinic instead of calling police after a man raped her in their home.

The Metro reports Tony Orlanda Singleton, 37, of South Carolina, was convicted of rape Wednesday and sentenced to life in jail by a Hampton County court.

Singleton raped the girl in 2016 while she was watching cartoons at home, according to the report. He was described as an “acquaintance” of the girl’s mother. The AP reports DNA from the girl’s aborted baby matched Singleton’s.

The girl’s mother, who is not named in reports, allegedly did not call police after learning about her daughter being pregnant from rape. Instead, she allegedly drove her daughter out of state to an abortion facility where her unborn grandchild was aborted, according to the report.

WJCL 22 News reports the girl’s father was the first one who told authorities about the abuse after he learned about the abortion from the girl’s mother. The girl’s mother reportedly told him about it while they were on their way to another state for the abortion.

It is not clear if the mother is facing any charges.

Pro-life leaders expressed concerns about the abortion clinic’s role in the young girl’s protection as well.

“So what did the abortion facility do? Why isn’t the story that they called the police? Or are they just interested in killing the baby and taking the money?” Father Frank Pavone, national director of Priests for Life, asked in reaction to the news.

Pavone said Life Dynamics has done extensive research showing that abortion facilities consistently fail to report suspected rape. Their research can be found at www.ChildPredators.com.

“They care as little about protecting the mother as they do about protecting the baby,” he said.

Local authorities mourned for the young girl and the horrific abuse that she endured.

“This girl should be getting ready to go back to school, making friends, braiding her hair – things other girls her age typically are engaged in,” said prosecutor Hunter Swanson of the 14th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.

Swanson said the girl trusted Singleton and he took advantage of her, changing her life forever.

The abortion also changed the young girl’s life and her unborn child’s forever. It destroyed her baby’s life, a second victim in the horrific crime, and may have caused physical and psychological damage to the already-traumatized girl.

At such a young age, it is unlikely that the young girl even understood what was happening, and it’s extremely unlikely that the abortion facility tried to explain it to her. The allegations against the mother also raise questions about whether the girl was pressured or forced into aborting her baby.

As LifeNews previously reported, one study found that 64 percent of post-abortive women said they felt pressured to have an abortion.

"Tie a yellow ribbon 'round this pedophile's neck..."

Don't worry, Tony, your "life" in prison won't last a month.

“was convicted of rape Wednesday and sentenced to life in jail”

Still think capital punishment would be better.

Remember all those “reporting” rules in the case of teachers, church personnel or even just any adults who suspect that a child is being sexually abused or exploited? They don’t apply to abortion centers.

There’s nothing else that could account for a pregnant 10 year old but sexual abuse, yet the abortion center has no obligation to report or even to refuse to do the abortion. And they’re not held responsible for their protection of a child abuser. Incredible, isn’t it?

Why aren’t the people in charge of that clinic up on charges for failure to report?!

Just checked. Healthcare professionals in SC are mandated reporters.

Why aren’t people from that clinic up on charges?!

Mama didn't want to get her boyfriend arrested, even after he raped her daughter.

Planned Parenthood is pro-rape. They’ve been caught on tape coaching young girls what to say to keep the police out of it.

Doesn’t matter. In SC they are mandated reporters. Whoever knew and failed to report ought to be in a cell adjoining the rapist’s.

I just looked at a number of articles. The state where the abortion took place is never mentioned.

Unless the cops showed up at the facility while the victim was there, how did the cops get a reliable DNA sample?

Unless the clinic took its responsibilities seriously and planned on cooperating with law enforcement? If so, why hide that fact?!

No, the article doesn’t say. It does mention Hampton County, which borders GA and is fairly close to Savannah. So GA is most likely, possibly FL.

Looks like both FL and GA clinic employees are covered by mandatory reporting laws.

There’s something to this “estrogen in the water supply” thing. Men are losing their masculinity and girls are entering puberty younger and younger. 10 years old and pregnant?
