Those morons have been with us for a long time. That attitude is what has brought us the catastrophic forest fires, especially on the west coast but elsewhere, too. The no burning policy has allowed the forest to be choked with underbrush and deadwood-Excellent fast starting tinder. If the forest is burnt annually the mature trees are not hurt and the forest floor becomes clear and large bodied game animals thrive. If it is then given a break for three years before burning again new trees reach such growth that they get through the fires. An early colonist in New England once said that you could march an army at regular time through the deepest forest there.
