LARGO — A jury found Michael Drejka guilty of manslaughter late Friday in the 2018 shooting death of Markeis McGlockton in a convenience store parking lot.

The conviction came after 6½ hours of deliberations by the jury of five men and one woman.

It was read aloud at 10:41 p.m. Drejka stared straight ahead, standing beside his lawyers. He could face up to 30 years in prison.

In the front row of the gallery, McGlockton’s girlfriend, Britany Jacobs threw up her hands and clapped. A woman broke into sobs. McGlockton’s father pressed his elbows into his knees as supporters squeezed his shoulder. His mother embraced family.

Stinking leftist judge and a self-hating white jury so anxious to prove it isn't racist (THIS IS NOT WHO WE ARE!)

Im wondering about a riot factor if the shooter was found not guilty

Ive always wondered what would have happened if OJ was found guilty.

Lets talk about jailing obama now

I don’t know if I agree with this verdict, but if you carry don’t go looking for trouble. You just might find it.

Drejka wouldn’t be going to jail if he minded his business.

Drejka was looking to provoke someone so he could shoot them on “stand your ground laws”. He’d tried it before. He’s a punk. Now he’s a punk going to prison.

Drejka was a bully looking for an excuse to shoot.

He stalked that parking lot looking for trouble in the weeks prior.

Right. Drejka appointed himself parking lot monitor, and now he’ll pay for his stupidity. So if you see someone parking in a handicapped space, you call the cops. You don’t go up and aggressively question anyone in the car.

Lazy entitled people park in the handicapped parking all the time, but they don’t deserve the death penalty.

Like Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri said, it's not a CRIME to be telling people they are breaking the law or for being known as a "busybody". He had a CWP for twenty years. If he had wanted to shoot someone he would have done it long ago.

However it IS a crime to be a 26 year old baby daddy loaded up with Ecstacy (driving under the influence) sprinting out of a convenience store, and slamming a guy onto the ground just because he's telling your girlfriend you parked illegally.

It's called assault and battery. That's two laws broken. Of course, the laws shouldn'r ever apply to these people, because they are justifiedly ANGRY at white folk!

Have I got that right? There isn't going to be enough popcorn to go around for all of the armchair apologists for atrocious black supremacist racist behavior when CWII hits.

True that. To which I’d add, who was to Drejka to decide who is handicapped and who is not? Lots of folks walk normally, but have severe limitations. It’s up to a cop to sort that out, not Drejka.

Take a close look at the video. If the man was advancing on Drejka, getting ready to kick or punch him, that would be one thing.

But Drejka fired at the man as the man was backing away, That’ll get you convicted by a white jury, a black jury, or a polka-dotted jury.

I’m not taking one side or the other but The prosecution won on a motion to only show the video in slow motion and they would not see it in normal speed.

Pretty prejudicial.

Drejka was knocked to the ground for two reasons. One he was white. Two he had the temerity to be talking at the black assailant's black girlfriend.

Neither of those are illegal or criminal acts. Yet. Nor did they justify Drejka being attacked physically. The assailant's continuing unlawful behavior after his assault on Drejka to my knowledge was never questioned at trial.

I don't buy the media's assertion that the assailant was "backing away". "Backing away" is not the same thing as "running away", which is what you would do if someone threatened to shoot you. What would "backing away" accomplish? Nothing.

More likely, he was challenging Drejka or even goading him or getting into position to strike again. You'd have to be certifiably insane to fire at a retreating target and I don't believe for a second that is what happened.

The black assailant, a much larger and younger man, had the drug Ecstacy in his veins (found at autopsy). The assailant in fact committed assault and battery in addition to driving under the influence of a drug. Drejka, prior to being assaulted, posed no physical threat to anyone.

Drejka's legal defense was pure garbage. Incompetent. I hope this conviction gets vigorously appealed, as it needs to be. Otherwise we will end up with two sets of laws. One for them. And one for us.
