Which brings us to the feces-clogged American River.

The river is teeming with unhealthy levels of E. coli bacteria. Human feces contribute to the problem. That’s because, without access to sanitary facilities, homeless people living along the river use it as a toilet.

Much has been made in the California media including the Sacramento Bee about President Trump rolling back environmental regulations and how it will negatively affect the state. A big issue was limiting Obama's Waters of the United States Act the made every seasonal pot hole in a farmer's field a protected water way. The American River is a 303d listed impaired water way protected by federal and state law. The governing officials allowing this to happen should be prosecuted.

Feces in the American River? Is the headline referring to LA, NYC, Seattle, Denver, etc. or is this story about the actual river in California?

E. coli in the river!
E. coli means fecal contamination.

If California's voters were willing to face reality, they would kick ALL Democrats out of office immediately and halt California's descent into a dark age.

"What do cop calls and E. coli have in common? They should both spur us to act on homelessness."

What a stupid remark! They would spur anyone with a functioning brain to expelled all Democrats from office and beg President Trump and his supporters to save them from their madness.

"Investigations by The Sacramento Bee have revealed some unsavory realities about life in a region struggling with a major crisis."

Yes, there is a "major crisis" all right, but it's not what these morons think it is!

It is the "progressive movement" ("liberalism", the left) that has sent the once-Golden State in free-fall into the depths of darkness, depravity, and decadence.

These people cannot get it through their thick skulls that the streets of San Francisco are covered with human excrement and urine and drug paraphernalia. They cannot understand what this means. They are functioning on the level of idiocy. If this doesn't wake the to reality, nothing will.

California is simply a window to the future of every urban/metro center.

- Create incentives to remain homeless.
- Allow homeless to sleep wherever they like, or in determined areas.
- Don’t ban panhandling.
- Drug use, crime and unsanitary conditions run rampant.
- Crap ends up in the river.

And the people moan, wondering how it ever got so bad, and what government program they should enact next.

.……….President Trump has the power to declare martial law anywhere in the United States he deems appropriate.

I talk via computer nearly every day to a recent refugee from Sacramento (not what she’s calls it) who moved to South Carolina. Simply put, she agrees that the so called “leaders” of Sacramento simply can’t and won’t do what has to be done.

President Trump should declare martial law as needed in Sacramento. The General in charge will know what to do down at the river and it will be done over night. Hopefully, the feds send the bill to Newsom and the City.

Since the INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION western societies gone a long ways to improve health and safety of their citizens.

Even the Romans 2000 years ago understood the relationship between human waste and disease. They had working toilets that took care of the waste.

Liberals have done something I did not think possible. Turned the richest state in the union (and if it was a country it would be one of the riches) into a third world hell hole all in the name of fairness and compassion.

There is a reason that up until our recent history communities had vagrancy laws. A vagrant has no loyalty to the community and is prone to lawlessness.

There is a reason that up until our recent history mentally unstable people were put into asylums to either be helped or at least be taken care of and to prevent them from being a menace to others.

There is a reason that up until our recent history anyone that wanted to enter our country had to have a health screening. Today many diseases we thought were wiped out have been re-introduced into our population by third world invaders.

There is a reason that those that migrated to our nation legally were expected to learn our language, our history and our culture. Today we have large pockets of foreigners that are not only not willing to integrated into our society are actively (some times with violence) want us to accept their language, history and culture.

California is what the liberals want for America.

They aren’t concerned about the homeless pissing and shitting in our rivers, but a plastic straw will not be tolerated.

Yes, plastic straws, making sure we all use recycling containers to separate out garbage from recyclable items, etc. are big issues for some of these liberals.

Yet critical masses of people urinating and defecating anywhere they feel the need, that’s ok with liberals?

I still can’t believe the San Francisco feces map. The first time I saw that, I thought it was a joke. Little did I know, that they really have such a map, so that the hazmat crews have a guide to where they should concentrate their efforts.

It might be a good time for Trump and Republicans to open a front in California.

The first paragraph of the article indicates their inability to fix the problem. They can’t identify it.

The problem is not homelessness. The problem is vagrant bums.

I work in California agriculture. On Thursday I have a meeting with the Central Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board. They are proposing for local ag operations:

. These recommendations suggest 50-310 foot setbacks against priority waterbodies based upon a stream classification system. These setbacks would require, at the smallest scale, grasses be planted alongside fields, but at 80 feet and over shrubs are also required and at 150 feet and over buffers diverse trees are required.

They want to take 50 to 310 feet of ag land out of production along any water way and to have the farmer plant and maintain a vegetative buffer strip. Clean up your own mess in Sacramento first.

Only in California would they call people that come in to take advantage of their welfare and homeless treatment vulnerable.

I’m reminded of the story of the guy in the motel that sees a mouse, so the staff send in a cat, then a dog to get rid of the cat, then a lion to get rid of the dog, then an elephant to get rid of lion, then a mouse to get rid of the elephant. A whole lot of nothing is being done and called generosity. If you look up the word, it also is called being liberal.
