A total of 106 demonstrators were arrested at “yellow vest” and climate protests in Paris by 1 pm Saturday as more than 7,000 police were deployed to quell any violence by the movement and its radical, anarchist “black blocs”. […]

Several hundred protesters were in the streets of the French capital around 11 am (09:00 GMT) on Saturday.

By then, police had arrested 39 of them, police headquarters said, adding that some protesters had been found to carry hammers or petrol canisters.

By 1:00 pm (11:00 GMT), police had arrested 106 demonstrators, police headquarters said, adding that some had been found to carry hammers or petrol canisters.

“We are being treated like criminals,” said a woman, who identified herself as Brigitte.

The authorities had banned demonstrations in some areas of the city, including tourism hotspot Champs-Élysées, but some protesters violated the ban, leading to a tense standoff with police who used teargas and batons to scatter them.

There are also fears that the demonstrators could try to infiltrate a march against climate change in the French capital.

The yellow vest movement erupted 10 months ago and blindsided President Emmanuel Macron, whom protesters accused of being out of touch with the needs of ordinary French people. …

As a reminder:

"The movement originated with French motorists from rural areas who had long commutes protesting against an increase in fuel taxes, wearing the yellow vests that, under a 2008 French law, all motorists are required to keep in their vehicles and to wear in case of emergency."

Without a mission statement, goals and leadership, the yellow vest movement is a kindergarten class without a teacher.

These Yellow Vests have very little in common with most Conservative groups in America by comparison. In France its Left vs Left.
