The industry's genial sex fixer — who claimed to arrange liaisons for everyone from Rock Hudson to Bette Davis — challenged Golden Age Hollywood's baseline-heterosexual conception of itself. Scotty Bowers, whose explicit, best-selling 2012 memoir revealed a covert realm of Golden Age Hollywood sexuality, died Sunday of natural causes at his home in Laurel Canyon, documentary director Matt Tyrnauer told The Hollywood Reporter. He was 96.
The former U.S. Marine and gas station attendant turned erotic fixer to the stars (including, he said, Katharine Hepburn and Rock Hudson) was the subject of an acclaimed 2017 documentary, Scotty and the Secret History of Hollywood.

Saw the documentary about him. A very sad soul who was sexually assaulted by other males as a child, screwing up his entire worldview of right and wrong. Prayers for his soul.
I saw it too. I think while there was partial truth in his Hollywood stories, he did a lot of sensational embellishing. After all, none of the people he ragged on were still alive to defend themselves.
Boys who are sexually assaulted often turn homosexual. Several studies have shown this to be the case, but still people want to believe homosexuality is normal, and not an aspect of some deep psychological pathology.
The author mentions that his bisexuality was a source of some amazement to those who interacted with him; yet, buried many paragraphs down into the article, it’s mentioned in passing that as a child, he was paid to perform sex acts on Catholic priests. He eventually married a woman and lived with her until her death last year, but apparently his natural heterosexual orientation had been twisted by those early experiences.
Yeah I saw that Scotty and the Secret History of Hollywood. The guy fought in a lot of major battles in WWII. Revealing about how he would hook up with Cary Grant, Spencer Tracy, Walter Pigeon, Rock Hudson & Charles Laughton. Ran his male escort service all out of a gas station. Brings new meaning to full service. RIP.

Some of his stories certainly sounded a little too over the top, even for Hollywood. I watched part of it but, felt nauseous after a bit and shut it off.
Anyone miss the days when Hollywood had the studio systems and taught their talent how to act like ladies and gentlemen in public and while there may have been rumors, no one or almost no one acted out in public? And the biggest thing I miss was that celebrities pretty much all stayed out of politics while all, at least in public, portrayed pride in America.
I'd gladly give up all our hi tech goodies to have that America back.
How many underaged actors/actresses did he send out on calls?
I haven’t seen it, but find it hard to believe that Hollyweird “stars” can’t get laid on their own.

It was all about ‘secrecy’. They went to Bowers because he had the low profile and contacts, and the ability to keep their secrets safe.
The rumors about Cary Grant, and all the others were tabloid fodder, but the real story was Scotty knew all and didn’t tell until they were all dead........................
Prior to the modern age actors & actresses were on a social scale of lower then thieves roughly equivalent to prostitutes so why should anyone be surprised.
The only thing that surprised me was that it was so pervasive.
There were names that you would never ever have thought of.......................
