Massachusetts Senator and Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren is being heavily criticized for failing to vet a high-profile campaign surrogate with a history of making homophobic, racist, misogynistic and xenophobic comments on social media.
Activist Ashlee Marie Preston was featured in a Warren campaign video released October 10. In that video, Preston explains that she’s “a Warren Democrat because I am not afraid of the fight.”
The video released by Twitter account @TeamWarren is captioned:
🙌@AshleeMPreston is a #WarrenDemocrat, and so are we. Together, we’re fighting so that all women of color have a voice in our democracy.
Preston also promoted the far-right conspiracy theory that Mexican nationals receive free health care in the United States.

This is true.
It is not a far-right conspiracy theory.
Illegal aliens get treated at ERs under fake names and never pay the bill.
That’s free healthcare.

Some of those tweets are from 8 years ago.
A campaign surrogate is another politician, celebrity or person of influence, campaigning on a candidate’s behalf. According to Eric Kasper, a political science professor at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, it’s an old practice dating back to the early days of politics.

I’m sure it’s an old practice: there is nothing new under the sun. I just wasn’t clear on what the terminology denoted.

Just imagine if Trump had someone with that twitter history working for him.
The media would have a field day. Hell, the media goes after people over tweets they made while in high school.
She is a White Privileged Woman just like Liz. I have to say, all the rallies Liz shows are filled with 95% White people

I read an article early on that blacks and the LGBT community were not responding to the Warren campaign and the campaign needed to reach out to them. I hope hiring him/her was not the effort to reach out; if so I am assuming it is an epic fail.

Can you be a White Privileged Woman if you’re a Black Man? Honestly, in today’s environment, I don’t see why not ... but maybe I missed a memo.
The whole thing is just too weird for me.
