in Africa, I have heard of anecdotal reports of men breastfeeding an infant after the mom died in childbirth, although it is more common for the grandmother or another relative to do this.
But this is not done to prove the latest gender fad, but because in the past, there was no other way to feed a child.
And my male cat breastfed his sister's kittens after the dog killed her.
So yes, it is possible.
but of course, the NYTimes is printing this to push the gender neutral agenda on society.
And no one wants to mention the hormones taken to “induce” milk in a man would be toxic to the kid.

Only a woman can breastfeed, no matter how delusional she is and what she calls herself.
Allowing a baby to ingest that kind of hormone laden milk should be child abuse.
