Two federal workers who were on duty the night Jeffrey Epstein killed himself in a Manhattan jail were charged on Tuesday in connection with their alleged failure to check on him every half-hour.
The two federal Bureau of Prisons employees were expected to appear in United States District Court in Manhattan.
The charges are the first to arise from a criminal investigation into the death of Mr. Epstein, the disgraced financier who hanged himself at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan while awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges.
A person briefed on the case had said early on Tuesday that the two federal workers had already been arrested, but others involved in the case said later in the morning that the arrests had not yet been carried out and the two workers would be charged later in the day.
The indictment charged the workers, Tova Noel and Michael Thomas, with making false records and conspiring to defraud the United States. Specifically, the indictment said the two workers failed to make their rounds to check on detainees and instead “sat at their desk, browsed the internet and moved around the common area.” Then they signed documents saying they had looked in inmates when they had not.
“The defendants had a duty to ensure the safety and security of federal inmates in their care at the Metropolitan Correctional Center,” Geoffrey S. Berman, the United States attorney in Manhattan, said in a statement. “Instead, they repeatedly failed to conduct mandated checks on inmates and lied on official forms to hide their dereliction.”

The federal government arrested to night shift jail guards who slept on duty. Is this the same federal government that ignored Epstein owning a rape Island, A rape airline to service rape Island, had massive numbers of politicians visit rape Island and ran a extortion and blackmail business, and .... watch called that for at least a decade and did nothing about it?

What about the Warden? What about the person that took him off suicide watch? This goes too far up. It will stop with the guards, they are the fall guys and their bank accounts will probably be pretty sizable in exchange for an extremely lenient sentence if only they keep their mouth shut and stick to the story.

Actually Obama’s Federal government gave Epstein a free pass. Things got alot harder for him once President Trump was elected. Still some moles and blackmailed creeps burrowed into the current gov, but it’s better by the day.

The arrest of these two dopes pales in comparison to what was lost with Epstein’s death.
And the DOJ can move relatively quickly when they want to indict some patsies and shut down any further investigation.
For $500K I think I could take a vow of silence for a mandated two year term. Prices and terms have been negotiated.
The FBI never raided Epstein Island until after he died oh, and all the whores and non consensual sex prisoners were gone. They still have not raided New Mexico compound. And none of the visitors to Epstein island has been arrested, not one. Under us law sex tourism to doink underage girls is it illegal, even if it happens in another country. The feds haven’t done anything since Trump came in except Target him
I am sure they are being compensated quite well to take the fall. Of course, I would be tempted to sleep with one eye open as I am not so sure the Hilldabeast likes Loose Ends.
