I remember Mark Steyn writing about how he felt Western masculinity symbolically peaked sometime around the sinking of the Titanic.
While the ship was going down, societys elite males, dressed in tuxedos, and with utmost chivalry and aplomb, helped load women and children into life boats, and without any sense of panic, sang Nearer My God, to Thee while they faced their doom.
What you describe is not masculinity. It is the pinnacle of SIMPing. But Mark Steyn is a tradcon that believes that men giving their lives for some code of chivalry is a noble and good thing. Personally, Ill take a seat in the lifeboat.
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
