As of 12:49:48 PM E.T. Sun, March 22, 2020, the Johns Hopkins University Global Case Tracker states 27,004 Covid-19 cases US in the US, with 347 deaths (do the math).
As for 12:27 P.M. E.T. March 22, 2020, the New York Times Latest Map and Case Count reports 29,666 Covid-19 cases, with at least 376 deaths.
As of 11:58 AM ET, Sun March 22, 2020, CNN US reports 26,327 cases and 327 deaths.
As of 12:25 PM EDT 03/22/2020 Politico , using data from the COVID Tracking Project, reports 191,541 tests given, 24,345 positive Covid-19 cases, and 296 deaths
Also, for perspective,
according to estimates, between 61,000 to 80,000 Americans died during the 2017-2018 season, the latter being the highest death toll in 40 years. During that 2017-2018 season, the percentage of deaths attributed to pneumonia and influenza (P&I) was at or above the epidemic threshold for 16 consecutive weeks. Nationally, mortality attributed to P&I exceeded 10.0% for four consecutive weeks, peaking at 10.8% during the week ending January 20, 2018, (https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/season/flu-season-2017-2018.htm) with older Americans dying at a rate of 169 Americans a day, or seven people per hour. (https://www.aarp.org/health/conditions-treatments/info-2018/older-flu-deaths-rising.html
And without marginalizing those suffering from Covid-19 and the need for prevention and treatment:
About 6 million motor vehicle accidents happen every year in America, with over 6,000 per day suffering injuries or disabilities , and over 90 Americans a day dying as a result. Teens aged 16-19 experience motor vehicle crashes higher than any other age group, and are nearly three times more likely than drivers aged 20 and older to be in a fatal crash, yet drivers age 80 and older have the highest rates of driver deaths. The economic and societal harm from motor vehicle crashes amounting to a whopping $871 billion in a single year!
If this was comparable to the yearly consequences of COVID-19, and the cost of restrictions vs, benefits of freedom were equal, could we contend that henceforth travel should be restricted to only essential needs, and street distancing of 6 car-lengths should be practiced when doing so, and otherwise all motor vehicle are to be garaged-in-place until a solution (bumper cars?) is found to prevent this dangerous and often deadly viral-vehicle transmission.
The media will provide a running tally of accidents and fatalities per state, increasing daily as more comprehensive monitoring takes place, and official will provide daily updates on this war.
58 deaths in New York today alone.
Only 46 throughout the entire country yesterday.
Increasingly looking like New York is on the Italy path. Hoping the rest of the country avoids it.
Car crashes arent likely to start increasing exponentially.
I think only half of FR is interested in sanity and a sane comparison of facts that display that if Cov-19 is a “pandemic” then so is the seasonal flu, and if the seasonal flu is not a “pandemic” than neither is Cov-19.
The New York numbers are a little suspect. They had 3000 for a period yesterday then revised down to 1975
The overal rate remains at 0,6%
So if you don’t like car crashes, how about nuclear bombs. Nuclear bombs have killed an average of about 2,500 people a year over the past 75 years, more than FOUR TIMES the total deaths from this overhyped Corona virus in the US, and we don’t see anyone putting aside hospital beds for that. Pure panic, I tells ya!
Wherever there is crime, death, destruction and misery - this is the most auspicious place for a dem politician with amibitions to rule. Hence the calls for Cuomo to replace Biden as the nominee.
Does it suck? Yes it does.
Is it an over reaction? I hope so as that's how we stop it and then learn how to stop whatever else Xi JingPing has in his little bag of tricks.
I know you understand this FreedomPoster - but over the next 48 hours lots of people are going to die because of Xi JingPing and his lying, just take note of the screen names - I'm making a list of morons so I know who never to waste time responding to in the future. Phonies and idiots I'm done wasting time on them.
New York's population is 7% of the US. So proportionally 88 New Yorkers per week have died from the flu over the past 20 weeks, or 1,750 people.
When 1,750 New Yorkers have died from Kung Flu, let me know.

You just became a Flu Boy Denier, and you want to see all 80 year oldsters like me get this stuff and die.
Rant off!
Thanks for posting these realities.

I don’t want to hear Trump talk one more time about his friendship with Xi. Its getting old now.
New York state currently reports 12,323 cases and 76 deaths, while New York City reports 9,654 positive cases of COVID-19 and 63 deaths. Seventy percent of the 114 people who have passed away were 70 years old or older, and the majority had underlying health conditions, Cuomo noted; approximately 80 percent of the people under 70 years old who died also had underlying health conditions.
Where does this number come from? Its only 1:36pm
I find it sort of strange that some of the same posters who were saying “China lied 100,000 died in Wuhan” are claiming it is overblown here.
I find it slightly amusing in a macabre sort of way that the same people calling me a shill for the PRC because I think you should only add 1 zero, not 2 or 3 to the numbers coming out of China are now upset that the death total isn’t higher in the US.
But do you think there will be an average of 90 deaths a day for Covid month after month?
Nuclear bombs have killed 187,500.00? Source? Fatality rate comparable to Covid?
If ever there was an opportunity for leftist leaders and Deep-Staters to make an attempt at disposing of our Constitutional rights and imposing non-representative rule, this is it.
Be on your guard, and stand your ground. Group up, stand up. And if necessary, guns up.
Eternal vigilance or eternal rest.
I completely trust president Trump when it comes to messaging he is a master of Neuro Linguistic Programming
