The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for todays Cryptogram. If you're just starting out on these, be patient, as you'll be proficient in no time.
If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hals Helper below:
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.
EVERYONE ADMITS THAT LOVE IS WONDERFUL AND NECESSARY, BUT NO ONE CAN AGREE ON WHAT IT IS. DIANE ACKERMAN
Relatively easy puzzle today folks. Starting with some familiar words that you should have no trouble recognizing.
For me it was word number 8 that kicked it off and it was all downhill after that, just like Jean Claude Killy.
Another 3 minute and under challenge!
Nice. Guessing the long words was fun indeed!
Not hard. The three letter words opened it up. RHB , RVK, and YPK.
About 3 min for me. Guessed at 3rd word which led me to recognize 2nd word. Hit a little road bump at longer words, but was able to navigate it after solving author’s name. Thanks for posting. Stay safe.
About 5 minutes.
first glance and a ??????????????
Started in the middle and Voooola, off and running...Of course the almost repeat big word(s) etc helped.....
The ‘statement’ is proving out to be more than casually true.
Take today for instance.....How many are just ‘hung up’ on the first report they get then ‘close their mind and sense of reason’ to any other opinion than their own?
(Or something like that)
Took me 6 minutes, but that’s long hand. Using online crypto puzzles on the smart phone it’s normally under 2 minutes for me.
Placemaker
Good one today and pretty easy. Took about a minute or I’m just getting better at this
The grammar seems off on this one. Shouldn’t the twelfth word be followed by another YQ?
This makes about as much sense as this person’s other rantings.
Yeah, I’m wondering if this was some kind of half baked quote from one of the underlings.
5 minutes. Long words completely fooled me.
That 2nd word opened it up for me, but I have the same reaction to the quote itself (and its author) that a lot of other folks on this thread have.
For once I was withing those limits. Fell together nicely for having been out of bed less than ten minuuytes.
Yes, your favorite word was staring you in the face, and this time you found it...straight away...
Yes, I’m always looking for that particular word in the puzzles. As for the author, meh. I’ll leave it at that.
