China's IO campaign is enabled by the virtual bamboo curtain, which President Xi Jinping and the regime have spent the better part of the last decade developing. No longer is the physical barrier of the iron curtain required. Instead, the authoritarian government of China can exert physical and psychological control over Chinese citizens at home and abroad through such means as digital surveillance and a sweeping network of individuals and institutions that monitor Chinese citizens and seek to influence the nations in which they may reside. How does this virtual bamboo curtain work?

We need lots and lots of import tariffs. Then after that, more tariffs.

The bamboo curtain works cause we’ve been letting it work. I hope Trump holds the Chicoms responsible for this mess. If we go back to business as usual then we’re toast. Our media, politicians, universities, corporations are saturated with spies. This flu deal is like having a sexual relationship with a person for a long time and you get an STD and the person knew all along that they had it. The relationship with China is over and if they don’t like it then that’s the way the fortune cookie crumbles.

One thing about this virus, it exposed a China-dependent world.

The pandemic has exposed some of the power-hungry intentions of the Chinese, but it hasn't scratched the surface when it comes to destroying their "bamboo curtain."

Not until our leaders understand that this is an act of war by the Chinese (a sinister, complex, but cleverly camouflaged act of war), we will begin to take action. The pandemic has certainly given our leaders a wake-up call.

“The pandemic has certainly given our leaders a wake-up call. “

Maybe half of our leaders. The other half is in bed with the Chinese and are happily watering and fertilizing the Bamboo Curtain.

Absolutely. When I said "our leaders," I actually meant the White House and those conservatives not in the pocket of the Chinese.

When Nixon established the “petro-dollar” in 1974 which resolved the oil crisis with Saudi Arabia, the price to the USA was the opening up of China to the rest of the world.

In return for that, the USA was granted the “exorbitant privilege” of the dollar becoming the world’s “reserve currency” which permits the USA to run basically unlimited deficits

Long past time to change

Yep. Communism (the CCP as its leader) is at war with freedom in the world.

The world has been pathetically naive.
