According to an excellent book, The Great Influenza by John M. Barry, the deadliest plague in history—1918-1919—started in Haskell County, Kansas, and one man, Dr. Loring Miner, knew firsthand about it, because many of his patients were dying, but no one would listen.

He issued a warning, published in Public Health Reports to alert health officials to this new outbreak and it is the first reference to the outbreak on public record.

I’ve always wondered if it was a German bioweapon that got out of control. It seems to have first affected American army training camps...

and the Germans were desperate and resourceful. They came up with poison gas, and might well have experimented with the idea of biowar...

As with pretty much every outbreak of disease, the Spanish Flu came from China by way of Chineese workers hired by France and GB to work during WWI in Europe.

It’s not that no one listened, it’s that the original outbreak was contained in a small community. It was “socially distant”.

The BIG breakout started in August at Ft Devens.

Haskell County Kansas is on migratory route of birds

The virus originated in birds

Haskell County also had large number of hog farms, the virus jumped to pigs then to humans

First wave struck in early spring the second more virulent wave in the fall

Hundreds of thousands of men were crammed into army camps and troop \ships. Here spread like wild from soldier to soldiers killing thousands , then into civilian population

From USA jumped to Europe by US Soldiers infecting other countries
