I know the song so well I didn’t listen to it all the way to the end.🙂

But I most pay attention to song lyrics, and lyrically Al Stewart is a genius. I’ve heard some Al Stewart fans make an exception for this song, but it’s no exception.

Like Peter Lorre contemplating a crime...

Yes, the lyrics to this song are so relaxing.

The full length piano intro on the non-radio version is awesome.

The entire album is great. It’s on my road trip flash drive.

I was always fond of Road to Moscow.

He is still touring! I saw him in concert a year or two ago. Still going strong!

One of the only 70s song that's worth listening to. A true classic.

A song that men (real men) and women can enjoy. A guy can have a soft, sentimental side but still be a real man. I love this song *and* Gimme Shelter.

I think there was a thread here devoted to this song a few months ago. But that’s okay. It’s a great song and brings back a lot of good feelings.

I like the song. I think I enjoyed the tune more than the lyrics. I never understood the reference to Peter Lorre, or a woman leading you through a hidden door, or why you have to stay with her in the Year of the Cat. But I always enjoyed the song anyway.

Had the album, staple of the ‘70’s.

Let's not forget my two Al Stewart favorites, "On the Border" and, especially, "One Stage Before".

The "Year of the Cat" album is my all-time favorite. In fact, I'm not sure why anyone even bothered to write more music after that was released.

"Year Of The Cat" and "Time Passages" are two of my favorite albums.

I was a teenager when those albums came out and they remind me of two high school girls that I had crushes on. One is divorced and the other is deceased. They should have gone with me!
