The already delayed run of The Boston Marathon will not happen this year over coronavirus concerns, Mayor Martin Walsh and Boston Athletic Association officials said on Thursday.

The marathon, a huge and important annual event, had been postponed until Sept. 14 from its normal April run in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Walsh said officials have decided that running it in September “is just not feasible” to be done in a safe way.

I thought this was a Bee story from the headline.

How do you run a Marathon online?

You have to give the Chicoms some credit. They shut down the marathon that the minions of Mad Moe could not.

And by the way, none of these democrat run cities and states are going to allow ANY large events before 11/3/2020. Doing so would make it possible for Trump to hold rallies.

Worse yet, I read another story about the "virtual Marathon" that says if you can show you ran 26.2 miles, you get a medal.

For Pete's sake, they're appealing to the 6-year-olds out there. A stupid "Participation Award". Hell, I'm going to go on an online map site and take photos of various spots on the route, so I can send it in and get my award.

I expect he’s going to want Trump to bail out the city when it’s in the dumpster. I’m amazed every day how willingly the people of MA. have accepted what Baker and Walsh are dishing out. Very little blowback from what I can see.
The restaurant owners should be storming the State House.

Heh, I had the exact reaction.

I couldn’t wait to see what the Bee had to say. Then I was disappointed.

I narrowly missed a qualifying time for Boston in 1979. Looks like my chance is finally coming!

Of course now I cramp up sitting at the computer too long, so might not make it to finish line.

An excellent point.

Democrat/Left politicians say the're "opening" their states or will soon do so, but we're talking -- what -- more than three months from now and Boston will still not be "open". The citizens of the city must be thrilled to learn this ... but I suspect they will meekly go along with whatever their local political hack decides -- the "men" of Boston, too, will no doubt bow at the knees of the petty tyrant as well. To avoid a gross disparagement of the Founders, the city's Freedom Trail most certainly must be re-named.

I think they could have the marathon if they just had the runners wear masks. Jeez, do I have to think of everything?
