In 2006 Amy Klobuchar Failed to Charge Police Officer Derek Chauvin After Shooting Death of Native American

The Washington Times reported:

Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar, who is in the running to be presumed Democratic presidential nominee Joseph R. Biden’s running mate, found herself under fire Thursday for not prosecuting years ago a Minneapolis police officer who this week was videotaped kneeling on the neck of an African-American suspect who died in custody…

…During the eight years she was a Minnesota prosecutor, prior to winning her Senate seat, Ms. Klobuchar passed on opportunities to prosecute Mr. Chauvin and several other officers accused of dubious conduct, according to reports in The Guardian newspaper and left-wing outlets such as The Daily Kos and the Young Turks.

Mr. Chauvin had 10 complaints filed against him during his nearly 20-year career in Minneapolis, according to an archive kept by a private group, Minneapolis’ Communities United Against Police Brutality.

So what if the shooting was justifiable why would she charge him.

My friends she is the best they have to offer only because she’s not sick/crazy. This will allow Joe to take his loss like a man. Then they can think things over while they regroup for 2024. If it’s a left whacko he choses for vp they lose big and don’t get over it because Joe’s a ‘moderate’.

The door just closed for Amy and opened for Harris and Duckworth.

Well, you’re right in that she isn’t overtly insane, so I agree that on one level she’d be Biden’s most formidable choice in his quest to peel off some white swing voters from Trump. If her VP candidacy wasn’t already d.o.a. with the Dems’ black base, it is now due to this Chauvin revelation.

“So what if the shooting was justifiable why would she charge him.”

After what you see him do on tape this time, killing a man who was being detained for forgery, do you think maybe he was capable of doing something wrong in the shooting death of the Native American? So, maybe they didn’t investigate him enough. At the least, if someone has multiple complaints against them, (some of which he received verbal reprimands for), should it not at least be considered that they be taken off the streets and given a desk job? Police HAVE to be able to police themselves, or it will be done for them.

Minnesota is a hard-left State. It's the home of the Democrat Farm Labor party, which is pretty much Stalinist in nature. The Governor is DFL. The mayor of Minneapolis is leftist Democrat- no Republican has been mayor of Minneapolis in decades.

Now it looks like the policemen of this leftist socialist utopia has just murdered a black man. Was this an ordered hit to rile up the African-Americans to vote in November? No one knows for sure.

You don’t know the cause of death so your statement has no merit.

Minnesota is just stupid and she is terrible.

She got 60% of the vote last election? Was she running against someone way more annoying?

Hopefully Chunk Yogurt will recruit someone to primary her, so even the 1.5 Million brain dead Minnesotans that still think Communism just might work if only the right people are running it will lose faith in their elected leaders.

Amy Klobo is the best VP pick for Sleepy Joe, but after these Floyd riots, too toxic.

Lieawatha is the best liar of the bunch, perfect compliment to Senile Joe.

Gee this is the sort of thing that could stop a Republican’s political career in its tracks, given what the guy did last Monday.

Cops in democrat run shitholes like this are generally bottom 20%. The Good cops flee to the suburbs. Nobody in the suburbs wants the bad ones.

Jeronimo Yanez - Trigger happy piece of Shit
Mo Noor - Trigger happy piece of Shit
Derek Chauvin? - we shall see.

Some big city PDs won’t hire someone with an above average IQ.

Their excuse is that after quite a bit of money on training, they are more likely to quit. I think the real reason is because someone with half a brain won’t put up with idiots and knuckle-draggers they work with.

“You don’t know the cause of death so your statement has no merit.”

The cause of death? Of whom? The Native American who was shot, or George Floyd who was asphyxiated from a knee on his neck? It doesn’t matter if he died of an arrhythmia in the context of being suffocated, or just lost consciousness and died from lack of oxygen. The proximal cause was the knee to the neck. That ex-cop will likely wind up in jail, and he belongs there - and would even if he had no previous complaints against him.
