Not defending Mario’s brat but Worldometer needs to explain their figures. For the last month their fatality numbers have been twice those listed by the NYS DoH. DeBlasio has basically required hospitals and his DoH to list most deaths as Covid if there were any factors however small that could point to covid. The Covid Tracking Project uses the state figures. Worldometer it appears uses the state’s plus DeBlasio’s.

And that they do that for all states, thus my comparison probably still holds if one compares confirmed deaths between the states.

The reality is that corona virus is much less deadly than it was even a few moths ago. The reason is simple. Our doctors know what to do, and what not to do. We have some drugs that cut the risks way down. And many of the knee jerk therapies doctors originally used were found to be problematic, such as ventilators. The death rate now is quite low. Its around 0.1%. And the total deaths in our country is the lowest since mid March. You obviously never want to be the one who passes the virus along because the one you give it to may be the .1%. But one in a thousand is pretty good odds.
As to vehicular deaths...BAN ALL VEHICLES! (even kids’tricycles...and wheelchairs). On second thought...ban all movement of anything.
Good points. Seems like the virus mutates? So it is more contagious but less potent?
Deaths are from people infected days or weeks ago. We have nothing to brag about, given how high our death rate is compared to most countries.
