Frederick Douglass spent the entirety of his adult life fighting tirelessly for black people and women to be recognized as full United States citizens.
Douglass, a famous black abolitionist in the 1800s, used Thomas Jefferson’s Declaration of Independence as the foundation of his argument to end slavery.
That’s why it struck me as ill-informed that Colin Kaepernick would use Douglass’ What to the Slave Is the Fourth of July speech as the audio backdrop for his incendiary tweet condemning America’s Independence Day.
Kap, aka Mute-hammad Ali, tweeted Saturday morning:
“Black people have been dehumanized, brutalized, criminalized and terrorized by America for centuries and are expected to join your commemoration of independence, while you enslaved our ancestors. We reject your celebration of white supremacy and look forward to liberation for all.”
The tweet linked to a video of actor James Earl Jones reading Douglass’ 1852 speech decrying American slavery while images of police shootings, lynchings and other acts of racist brutality flashed across the screen.
Kaepernick’s tweet has received more than 170,000 likes and 60,000 retweets. I could not find — and I searched — for a more popular Fourth-of-July social-media post than Kap’s rebuke of our nation’s holiday.

He is the voice of Nike. So, that makes him a racist and a millionaire mouthpiece for a company that use slave labor to make its product.
I read the entire article. It is epic. It ranks among the best pieces I’ve ever read from a sports journalist.

Colin Kaepernick has it wrong. The Americans haven’t done bad things to black people, democrats have. Every thing the democrats ramble on with the list of items against blacks, it was the democrats doing it.
I am hoping that all of this idiocy opens people eyes to the true. Liberals openly think that blacks are so inferior that they can’t get ID, vote without being told who to vote for, have their own babies, support themselves, and all the other nonsense. The liberals are openly racist but as so blind to it they can’t see the truth.
The Voter ID is the one that got me worked up the most. Anytime someone mentions they are against Voter ID because blacks couldn’t get ID at work I tossed out, “So you think blacks are inferior, Interesting.....” I’ll bet Colin Kaepernick is one that is against Voter ID for the same reason.
What is he? A ‘fro and a big mouth on a stick.

I suppose the 7,000 blacks murdered by blacks every year have not been dehumanized or brutalized. Don’t hear anything about that from the race baiters posing as “civil rights champions” or BLM.
