How To Create A Pandemic Panic…And Keep It Going

Here are five steps that the got the coronavirus panic started and why it continues to this day.

1. Wildly exaggerate the deadliness of the disease. Most perceptions of the coronavirus were formed when the World Health Organization announced that the fatality rate was above 3%.

2. Overcount deaths and undercount cases. These perceptions have continued because of the way cases and deaths are counted. On the one hand, the number of “confirmed” cases is a fraction of the actual number of people who’ve contracted the disease.

3. Ignore positive trends. Amid all the agonizing over the rise in new coronavirus cases are data that should be reassuring, but are being largely ignored.

4. Act as though any new infection is a tragedy. The news media continue to treat outbreaks of COVID-19 as a death sentence. It’s news when a prominent person tests positive, but not when they get better. Nor has the press done a good job of explaining the relative risk of the disease to different demographic groups. I

5. Ignore the health consequences of lockdowns. We’ve argued in this space for months that the cure for coronavirus may very well end up being worse than the disease. Underlying all this is the presumption — imposed by the public health community — that you can never be too careful. By this standard, there’s nothing wrong with grossly overplaying the threat of a disease. But reporting good news, or providing accurate data about risks is a public disservice because it might cause people to be “too” lax.

If we’re going to learn anything from this experience, the first lesson ought to be how to avoid a panic the next time a pandemic comes around. Because once a panic is induced, it’s hard to stop.

Just another media mirage. People are figuring it out and it does not bode well for the leftist future. I’ve seen it written many times that if we lose our freedom, we’ll never get it back. But, based on history, no country has ever been free to the degree that the U.S. was at it’s founding and up through 1913 (16th and 17th Amendments).

Russia was always a tyranny with a few benevolent czars and now they are much freer. I’ve watched most of Yuri Bezmenov’s youtube videos and in 1985 he noted that the U.S. was already thoroughly demoralized. The next step was destabilize to be followed by crisis.

The leftists have been trying to destabilize and create crisis for the past 35 years to no avail. And this is the best they’ve got. I’m thinking that once a society acquires freedom, it’s nearly impossible to take it away. Though we are on the brink, what is really stunning is the number of conservative Blacks who are speaking up loudly and often in support of the President.

The Black community was the left’s testing ground, and they are losing it. They could not keep free people down once they decided to get up.

Bezmenov also said that once indoctrinated, people cannot and will not learn the truth. But, just look at the Walk Away campaign. Except for the ‘walk with’ videos, they are all people who were successfully indoctrinated and they got red pilled. That has never happened before in history.

We will re-elect President Trump and he will be followed by liberty loving Constitutionalists for quite some time. What will be interesting to see is if any other countries finally attain real freedom. Europe flirted with freedom briefly after the French Revolution but nose-dived into socialism after the 1st world war. We’ve been financing their soft socialism with our military support ever since. The President is even putting a stop to that.

Keep praying and working hard. We will win if we want to.
