Two Indian schoolgirls have discovered an asteroid which is slowly shifting its orbit and moving toward Earth. Radhika Lakhani and Vaidehi Vekariya, both studying in 10th grade, were working on a school project when they discovered the asteroid, which they named HLV2514. The girls, from the city of Surat in the western Indian state of Gujarat, were participating in a Space India and NASA project, which allows students to analyze images taken by a telescope positioned at the University of Hawaii. Aakash Dwivedi, senior educator and astronomer at Space India, told CNN that students across India were taught how to spot the celestial bodies using software which analyzes images collected by NASA's PAN Star telescope.

From the article...

“Dwivedi explained that the asteroid is currently close to the orbit of Mars — but in 1 million years, it will change its orbit and move closer to Earth, although it will still be at a distance of more than 10 times the distance which exists between the Earth and the Moon.”

Regarding this particular asteroid, I think we’re safe. Real safe.

Oh only a million years?

Well, at least RBG will still be on the Supreme Court.

And Keith Richards will be in danger, too.

[HLV2514]

Whew, for a moment, I was afraid it was LV-426.

At least the Nostromo’s ore barge is in a safe parking orbit.

Good thing we didn’t leave one person on board the ore barge being towed by the Nostromo, you know, just in case something went wrong with the Nostromo landing. They couldn’t repair it anyways, out there, according to Yaphet Kotto. Well, he might have been padding extra hours on to the estimate, bargaining for a full share. Well, there was probably no place for the person on the ore barge anyways.

Let’s do a similar thing 57 years later with the Sulaco and one of her drop ships. Oh Bishop can do it. Hope he doesn’t get torn in half too soon or it’s game over. Game over.

Now it’s been ten thousand years
Man has cried a billion tears
For what he never knew
Now man’s reign is through
But through the eternal night
The twinkling of starlight
So very far away
Maybe it’s only yesterday

Zager and Evans.

Meanwhile in U.S. schools they're teaching them to hate America, math is racist, and it A-okay for boys to become girls.

If only our kids were focused on the sciences at that age.......

Why should we condemn the entrance into this country of students who actually have intelligence when our own students are studying the "xyz studies" courses..?
