It’s insane, isn’t it? I expect seed prices to be up next year, too. I plan on taking advantage of some 2020 seed sales, myself.

Still waiting for my garlic to arrive for planting. Hurry up!

Pics not displaying here. But, nonetheless, those sound nifty. I should keep my eyes open for a Black Walnut Huller @ yard sales, as we have a Black Walnut tree that is getting large and is a prolific nut producer.

I was at our local Lowes a couple days ago, and all the in-store pricing seems significantly higher than last fall. Online, perhaps not so much. (Maybe.)

Find a ‘lack’ in the market and fill it. It’s the American way!

I am recommending we ALL stock up on the seed we need for next year, still in this year.

Who knows what is around the bend?

that’s good to know. I saw a map with ire symbols on it and northern California looked like they had many. Stay safe!

*********************************************************************************
Anticipating a rise in prices, we ordered the lumber we needed for our Shed/root cellar even though we had no place to hold it—the lumber yard agreed to keep it till we were ready.

Two by four’s have tripled in price since then.

I should have added - those prices will cool down the house building considerably.

Yikes!

And... I'll say... (effect on construction)

I've not been following lumber prices recently (nor did I go into the lumberyard @ Lowes a few days ago.) What's driving the increase? The fires? 3x is "insane".

I really don’t know for sure. I was the one that insisted we go ahead and buy it early. I don’t recall all the reasons, but one was that the Fed was printing money out the kazoo, and it was before COVID hit.

Supply line disruptions and fires etc. It ain’t gonna be pretty for a while.
