How to herd snakes: with a cane or long stick move it head to point to the direction of the open door. Touch in on tail. They usually head toward the door.

Thanks! I really hope we don’t have anymore in the house. If my dogs had been inside instead of outside they would have taken care of it. I have Feists and they hate snakes!

Either ya are or your not. This hoosiermama was raised by a mama who loved the out door and every critter in it. Was taught that man was made to care for and be taken care by all His world. OTOH the copperhead next to foundation and rattlesnake under the window had to go. Neighbor killed my black snake and they tried moving in almost immediately. More blacks aids please.

I like your attitude and what your mama passed down....knowing God’s creatures tells us what to fear and what to “relocate”...

My Wife HATES SNAKES.

I Have this vision of this happening to Her. In a split second I'm seeing Her brush the snake off of Her and as Her feet cling upside-down to the porch light like in a Cartoon. She pulls out Her 9mm and putting 11 rounds into the poor snake and while screaming for help as She changes to the spare Mag to put 10 more Rounds into the messy pile that used to be a simple Grass Snake on the porch.

Note to self. No Snake Costumes for Halloween.

“Did you know that spiders are cold?”

That would’ve countered the warm deposit in my undies.

...it was just a scared little rat snake...

Thank God it wasn't one of those Rattle-Headed-Copper-Moccasins, that a friend from Arkansas warned me about...

;^)

Maybe it was the sudden wet spot. :)

I had one in my living room on my white carpet

I walked into my bathroom one morning when I first got up and when I turned on the light, there was a big ass wolf spider right in the middle of the white tiled floor....startled the crap out of me.

I solved that problem, I put black carpeting on the bathroom floor.....

I know a woman who is so terrified of snakes she cannot stand to look at pictures of them.

One day she stops at the local convencience store and starts to leave when a guy walks in with a pet boa constrictor around his neck. She freaked out and left the store screaming.

Yeah I have a snake story, just about stepped on a Rattlesnake in the brush I could not see but he made his presence known loud and clear. I left the scene muy pronto, I heard the
guy behind me yell freeze but heck I was 20 yards away by then. He later laugh at me and said I ran like a scared rabbit. I said heck with scared rabbits I fired the afterburner.
Yeah I’m a Florida Man, everybody down there has snake story.

About 30 or so years ago, I opened the door to my dad’s shed and a large rat snake fell on my head, rolled down to my shoulder and onto the ground. I levitated backwards about 8 feet and contemplated the situation.

The next day I was in the shed working on some project and I opened a drawer in an old desk looking for a tool I needed. There was the snake coiled up and looking at me. I closed the drawer carefully and decided to look elsewhere.

Ugh. That sounds traumatic. I’m ok with them as long as where they’re supposed to be: slithering on the ground. :). Hubby and I were on a walk on a paved walking trail last summer and a HUGE black snake came out of the grass in the right and stopped right in the middle of the walking trail. I finally nudged him with a stick and he continued on. Still have the video I took to send to family. 😀.

I've found that placing (on all the baseboards) 3 x 5 index cards with arrows pointing towards the nearest door works best...

My grandma used to march them out to the corn crib to eat mice.
