The attorney representing eight Black former Iowa football players who allege racial discrimination during their time with the Hawkeyes said Monday night that the university's rejection of their demands, which included a payment of $20 million, is not the end of the matter.

Civil rights attorney Damario Solomon-Simmons of Tulsa, Oklahoma, had stated the players' demands in a 21-page letter to university officials dated Oct. 5. In addition to $20 million, the players called for the firings of head football coach Kirk Ferentz, offensive line coach Brian Ferentz and athletic director Gary Barta.

The players want?! The players?

"The players also wanted mandatory annual anti-racist training for all athletic department staff, the creation of a permanent Senior Black Male Administrator position and tuition waivers for Black athletes who attended Iowa during Kirk Ferentz's 22 years and did not graduate."

....former Iowa football players....

They don't play anymore. Losers that squandered their opportunity for free education because they were "goin' to da league" and now want a redo cause that career path didn't work out so well.

I love football, but I am not watching football again ... unless there is an all white football league. That’s no going to happen.

Starbucks and Amazon will take care of them. It’s a living wage.

From observing comments on FB, this group did themselves no favors. Fans do not believe them and they’ve probably solidified Iowa support. Go, Hawks!

I hated in grade school when one kid did something stupid and the whole class was punished for his actions. Still feel the same way, small percentage of student or pro athletes do something I disagree with I will not punish them all for the actions of a few.

That’s the gratitude you get for dredging up otherwise useless scum and giving them a shot at successful life. Character should be the most important recruiting factor rather than athletic skill.

Ever been in the Army? Barracks discipline...it works because the offender doesn’t repeat!

Marine Corps - did not like it then either. I found the folks that do stupid things due to their beliefs seldom learn any lesson.

Well you know the drill! I despise group discipline too! The theory was ...at least in WW2 days ...that the innocents would take out their collective wrath physically on the miscreant. Probably couldn’t happen today.

Don’t worry. I’ll pick up your slack.

What waivers for tuition?

Don’t they get free tuition for being an ‘athlete’???

IF they didn’t graduate-—how is that the fault of the coaches or the University???

I believe some schools do waive tuition for former athletes to return and finish degrees after playing days are over.
