UPDATE: Presidential Candidate Forum

Wyoming’s GOP Presidential Forum “Charging to Victory 2008”

The Wyoming Republican Party is excited to announce the status of the September 29, 2007 GOP presidential forum. The Wyoming Republican Party will host the first of two meetings at the Casper College Thunderbird gym. The meeting will begin at 10:00 am. with speeches from the candidates, followed by questions from Republican precinct committee men and women. The Wyoming GOP will host the second event at Central Wyoming College in Riverton at 5:00pm, with the same format as Casper College. A highlight of both events is the opportunity for precinct men and women to scrutinize the positions of the candidates.

The precinct people will be credentialed prior to each event, they will have reserved seating and be provided the unique opportunity to meet and talk with the candidates. The public is invited to attend either or both venues and should have an up close and personal “once in a lifetime” experience. Due to the commitment of the Wyoming GOP leaders to ensure Wyoming has a part in the final national selection, each of the 23 Wyoming county conventions will choose voting delegates committed to specific candidates on January 5, 2008.

Attendance count: Sen. Sam Brownback, Sen. Fred Thompson, Rep. Ron Paul, Rep. Duncan Hunter have committed to attending. Unfortunately Gov. Mike Huckabee, Sen. John McCain, Gov Mitt Romney have declined; Rep. Tom Tancredo and Mayor Rudy Giuliani have yet to confirm their attendance.

I'm planning on attending and possibly posting a citizen report on the Casper debate. Does anyone know of a good portable voice recording system suitable for use from the "peanut gallery"? TIA.

I do not, but I’m glad you are able to go. The recorder my co-worker uses for work was pocket sized and not expensive, but he’s not here right now to ask him.
