Historically, since 1960 - (with the exception of 1964), the GOP tends to nominate the Gold Watch Candidate, i.e. the fellow who has been around the park the longest and is next in line. At the same time, historically, since 1968, the party has nominated the most "moderate" candidate in the field - with the exception of 1980 when the Gold Watch Candidate Ronald Reagan won over several more moderate candidates who split among themselves.
If conservatives wish to win nomination in 2016, the key word in unity. That is how Reagan won in 1980 when RINO's divided the votes among themselves.

This is hogwash!
Being a true Constitutional Conservative, there isn’t a snowball’s chance in HELL that I could ever support Jeb Bush for anything outside of permanent exclusion from any political/public office.

In now ay is Jeb Bush a conservative. He doesn’t even like this country, speaks Spanish at home, cries over illegal aliens. And illegal aliens pose an enormous threat to this country’s survival. Nobody who supports amnesty can possibly be a patriotic American.

The party was not united around Reagan in 1980. After he WON maybe, but not before.
Run a TRUE conservative or we lose again. No more phonies. And if he doesn’t look like he “can win” then support him anyway. Reagan couldn’t win either — until he did.

That is how Reagan won in 1980 when RINO's divided the votes among themselves. There is a nugget. If we settle on one good conservative and let Bush and Romney split the GOPe we have a possibility of getting the nomination.

When a large majority of people in the party are 30 points away from you philosophically, you're in the wrong party.
The above poll SUGGESTS that McConnell and Boner are an accurate representation of the GOP.
Tea Partiers and libertarians do not belong...and things are getting tougher for Socons.
The GOP is adamant they will not become a populist party and will continue to reside at the Country Club.

Okay, well, they can elect him if they want.
If they make him the nominee, I’ll vote for his opponent, and they need every vote in NW FL. that they can get.

More Bravo Sierra from Tokyo Rove since he knows that Romney would take enough states to deny Jeb the nomination in a 3 way race with Cruz.
