'Cruz Country' stop brings out Sanders' signs
The Chattanooga Times Free Press ^ | August 11, 2015

Posted on 08/10/2015 9:46:38 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz stopped in Chattanooga on Monday as he spent the congressional recess politicking around the South.

The Texas senator and presidential dreamer (being called a dreamer will probably cause him a little heartburn) is best known for shutting down the government, reading Green Eggs and Ham during a filibuster and opposing immigration reform — never mind that he is son of a Cuban immigrant.

In Chattanooga, the tea party-leaning Republican made what he called a biscuits and gravy stopover during his eight-state "Cruz Country" bus tour through the southern states. He made a stump speech at GraceWorks Church on Lee Highway.

He told the crowd that Tennessee will play a "critical role" in the 2016 race.

The event seemed to have all the makings of an altogether boring beginning to presidential politics in Chattanooga.

But then supporters of Sen. Bernie Sanders, who is seeking the Democratic nomination, perked things up by welcoming Cruz and his supporters with Sanders' signs.

The Sanders folks said they just wanted the Cruz crowd to known there is "a viable alternative."

Cruz is a climate change denier and a fanatic of the belief that all things government are too big and all bad.

Sanders, on the other hand, thinks we aren't doing enough to combat climate change and that we should provide tuition-free public college and a single-payer health care system.

Maybe the next time he filibusters, Cruz will read Dr. Seuss' book "The Lorax." He might learn something.

Do you see anybody protesting at Linda Grahamnesty, Ron Paul, Junior or Sweater Vest's rallies? What does that tell you?

A couple of weeks ago, I was taking a walk and some hipster punk comes walking down the street holding a Sanders sign. As I started to pass by him, he takes out his earbuds, looks at me, and asks, “Do you know about Bernie Sanders?” Injecting as much derision as I could muster into my reply, I said, “Yes, I have.” The fool started woo-hooing super loud and just walked away from me. Didn’t even try to win me over despite my obvious disdain. Probably a pothead, though, and couldn’t detect my disgust. It was super bizarre.

Just what is it about this socialistic old coot that people turn out to see and hear? Are they happy with the way things have gone in this country the past 6 1/2 years and want more of it until our country is totally Greece? Fools - all of them.

An unsigned editorial, presented as a news story, composed by a juvenile.

The Chattanooga Times Free Press has certainly fallen on hard times.

“Are they happy with the way things have gone in this country the past 6 1/2 years...”

Obama hasn’t done ENOUGH to bring bigger government and Socialism into play.

Still no big federal gun ban. No federal $15 minimum wage. No free healthcare. No real amnesty. College is still too expensive. Etc.

I think I would rather Bernie get the nomination than Hillary. My gut tells me, the GOPe will be much more inclined to support a Trump and/or Cruz candidacy with all their available power and might if faced with the prospects of President Bernie Sanders. I could them supporting Hillary over Trump.

Did you see where he recommended that decide our industrial/environmental policy based on a Dr. Seuss book?

The next time any liberal tries the smug "because SCIENCE!" on me, I'll shove this up their donkey.

The young ones are being taught from an early age that government is the source of everything good. You do not need to expend any effort on your own to take care of yourself. The nanny state can and should take care of you. These teachings have been reinforced by Obama (”you didn't build that”) or whoever said that unemployment frees you to pursue activities you enjoy. These young people are taught that work is a bad thing and that they should strive for total dependence on government.

The young support Bernie because they have been conditioned to do so.

Tonight in L. A., 27000 showed up for a Bernie rally. Scary.

Brownies or no brownies...

Bernie Sanders best political asset? He's not her. Bad news for the born rich-witch from Chicago...

Since when has Hillary! and her arrow been able to muster 27,000?

Human beings in attendance at a rally, I mean.

If it was money instead, well then, she could just turn on the well supplied slushy machines...

$27,000 is chump change for her, but a years salary for more than a few Sanders supporters.

You guys have likely seen the following articles (and there's more of much the same, where this comes from);

Charity watchdog: Clinton Foundation a 'slush fund' April 26, 2015

The Clinton Foundation’s finances are so messy that the nation’s most influential charity watchdog put it on its “watch list” of problematic nonprofits last month.

The Clinton family’s mega-charity took in more than $140 million in grants and pledges in 2013 but spent just $9 million on direct aid.

The group spent the bulk of its windfall on administration, travel, and salaries and bonuses, with the fattest payouts going to family friends.

The next article, dated May 21, 2015, is rather long compared to typical news items, and there's enough that's revealing, its difficult to decide what to extract and highlight;

http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/clinton-foundation-reveals-up-to-26million-in-additional-payments/2015/05/21/e49da740-0009-11e5-833c-a2de05b6b2a4_story.html

The Clinton Foundation reported Thursday that it has received as much as $26.4 million in previously undisclosed payments from major corporations, universities, foreign sources and other groups.

...

The money was paid as fees for speeches by Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton. Foundation officials said the funds were tallied internally as “revenue” rather than donations, which is why they had not been included in the public listings of its contributors published as part of the 2008 agreement.

...
The paid appearances included speeches by former president Bill Clinton to the Nigerian ThisDay newspaper group for at least $500,000 and to the Beijing Huaduo Enterprise Consulting Company Ltd., an investment holding company that specializes in the natural gas market, for at least $250,000. Citibank paid at least $250,000 for a speech by Hillary Rodham Clinton.

The disclosures underscore how much the Clintons have leveraged their star power to draw more money not just for their personal enrichment but also for the benefit of their philanthropic work.

[Clintons have made more than $25 million for speaking since January 2014]

The foundation, which has raised $2 billion since Bill Clinton left the White House, has emerged as a political headache for Hillary Clinton amid recent controversies over donations. The foundation, along with the Clintons’ paid speaking careers, have provided additional avenues for foreign governments and other interests to gain entrée to one of America’s most prominent political families. Some Republicans have charged that Hillary Clinton, during her tenure as secretary of state, was in a position to reward foundation donors.

Is it any wonder that the uber-ultra, lefty wet-dreams Sanders, presently has some drawing power?

I repeat, he's not Hillary, but sadly enough, might make the Forward Feminist arrow wielder appear centrist in comparison, in the eyes of the oh so edjumacated uber-ultra crowd, and those whom are looking at things more from the sidelines>

I suppose she thinks to herself she'll trounce him the Dem primaries, with all that slush-puppy depth of organization & well-paid personnel, when push comes to shove.

Live boys wouldn't ruin a Sanders? A dead girl would.

What hatchet job will the Clintoon Crime Syndicate pull on poor 'ol well-intended Bernie?

He better get an an Iron Maiden Chasity belt device, fitted for his neck.

It's too bad she couldn't, or at least didn't knife Barry well enough?

She has no more chances in front of her. It's now or never, for the 2nd saviour from Chicago (who shoulda' been the 1st Chicago! it was her turn! America needs a woman, and she's a woman. men are evil, and sort-of dumb. and mean. and hurt the earth! we all know that. right? but wymen = majic goddess-like! ta-dAH! ta-rah-rah-boom-de-Ay)

How do we get our man Cruz, through all this muck? Aye-yi-yi.

It sure is good to read an unbiased opinion.

Maybe it is just me but when one of these SYT that read the TV news these days mentions BO there seems to be ‘love’ in the tone and when they mention the ‘Michael Brown Anniversary Rally’ (WTF????) there is reverence and awe UNTIL it is mentioned that he assumed room temp as “Unarmed Teen Ager, killed/murdered/shot to death” ... ALL BS aside, it would be nice if ‘they’ would sort of remember he had just manhandled a store owner/manager about 1/3 his size and stupidly advanced on and grabbed at an armed police officer prior his demise.
Not saying they should or should have to mention it but at least their demeanor shouldn’t be that some innocent youth was shot down by a deranged, evil policeman.

And why in the world aren’t these people running with the story of the protestors were/are protesting that they haven’t been paid for protesting?

If ‘Tea Party’ vols were engaged in such activity, ‘the powers that be’ would have IRS camped out on their stoop just so they could be there to collect the taxes on their meager earnings.

Calypso Louie’ stands before a crowd and proclaims that whites should just be shot and we hear nothing from the people that would have a kitten if you or I were to call ‘CL’ a kn....r and agitator.

I certainly hope when Louie and Al and Jessee and BO and Holder etal dream of a Black uprising comes to pass that THEY all are in the front lines...BUT we know that BO will have them all hidden away in the White Hut or Camp David or some other facility that WE are paying for.
