And of course there’s Trump... The most efficient, cost effective campaign I have EVER seen.

No kidding. Best ever.

The 'Rats, especially Bernie Sanders, would have you believe that money matters in politics (it's wrong, it's unfair, we must repeal the 1st Amendment, yada yada). But the numbers, at least for SC GOP primary, show a strong negative correlation between money spent and votes got:

Candidate Total Spending Total Votes Cost Per Vote
Jeb Bush $13.78 million 57,863 $238.15
Marco Rubio $12.05 million 165,881 $72.64
Ted Cruz $7.07 million 164,790 $42.90
Ben Carson $1.06 million 53,326 $19.88
John Kasich $882,000 56,206 $15.69
Donald Trump $1.78 million 239,851 $7.42
Total $36.622 million 737,917 $49.63

“Trump beat two Hispanic senators tonight, WITH HISPANIC VOTERS!”

Latinos with Mexican roots don’t see Cubans as their hermanos. But they do tend to like strong leaders and Trump has the jefe thing working for him.

Cruz has won a state, Rubio has not.

And Rubio is also the only one to clearly lose a debate. Krispy kicked the tar out of him.

And they are calling for Cruz to quit.

That is ridiculous.

If anybody should quit right now it is Rubio.

When gently prodded about Cruz hypothetically getting out of the race to swing it for Rubio, Amanda Carpenter had an excellent reply.

Ted Cruz's supporters are not going to support a Gang of Eight candidate. If Cruz is out, his voters will flock to Trump.

I think she's right. The establishment is out of options.

The GOPe are going to carry Rubio the entire way... It’s pathetic.

You know what Marco Rubio was doing instead of sticking it out in Nevada? Sleeping.

I’m not kidding. Rubio went to bed at around 11pm Eastern Time.

Classy. Equating Trump with Kerry.

And what about your guy? Back when he was choosing a college, for patriotic US citizens, a military academy education was highly desirable, and provided an excellent and free education for those who could meet all of the qualifications. Why did Cruz choose, of all things, an Ivy League education? What close personal contact has Cruz EVER had with military members and Veterans?

He worked for draft-dodger GWB, who used his connections to get a gig where he'd be protected from actually going to war.

Fair question? Yeah. You're bringing up Trump's decisions and LEGAL deferments from when he was college-aged.

Thanks for the cost per vote chart, cynwoody.

I would caution you against being over optimistic about Trump running the table but the good news is that he doesn’t need to run the table to win. Like you, I agree that Trump is now in the drivers seat.
